Hotel in the heart of the city
KaneliPullanenon 28/10/2017 10:13Excellent location for city vacation. Main sights in walking distance. Main shopping street with restaurants in the neighbourhood. Taxi stand, railway station and bus station within 100 meters. Yet inside hotel is peaceful and quit. And of course the beach with the large garden area is nearby.
Larger shopping malls locate about 5-10 kilometres from this center, but the local busses can take you there in 15-30 minutes, one trip costs about 0.5 euros. Taxi trip form airport to hotel burgas costs about 20 euros.
Hotel rooms are quite nice yet not luxurious, clean yet some things might need fixing (like burned light bulb or a bit loosen curtain) but all in all these things create somewhat cozy feeling. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is okay with bacon, eggs, bread, yoghurt, etc and various sweet cakes and fruits for dessert. So one does not leave breakfast hungry, but maybe there could be some more vegetables if one does not want to start off the day with kind of heavy breakfast.
2 nights stay in October
sapienson 21/10/2017 10:55Well, its always depends on what you expect and what you get. Need to keep in mind that it is low season too. My stay was short, therefore hard to judge from all sides. I will write only pros and cons, with few comments.
Stayed in Room 403
Cons:
- Relatively high price for low season (140 Eur for 2 nights)
- Bathroom - guys, if you put soap and shampoo in plastic, make it easy to open, especially if guest have no long nails :) I managed to open it with my teeth, but you know, taste of the shampoo is not you expect to get first in Burgas. Second - switching the light in bathroom start working ventilation cooler, noise strength similar to vacuum cleaner. Not that tragical, but may cause some difficulties while speaking on the phone.
- Breakfast - not bad, omelette with bacon were ok. Only thing - automated coffee machine: to get average size cup you need to press button twice, to get it big - three times. And please-please, do not forget about coffee quality. No Martini - no party, no coffee - no breakfast.
- WiFi signal sometimes not stable in the evenings
- Wall thickness or materials (?) allow to hear what happens in neighbor room (even for such hard of hearing guy like I am). For me that's not a problem, but if i travel with kids, and in neighbors be honeymoon couple.. you know :)
- Some hotel pictures make impression it has nice view from at least 2 sides from 4. In reality probably some rooms has nice view, but from my room were visible grey wall cross the small street, and from the stairs and lift area - view is on small square, also mostly buildings. Restaurant on the top - has roof panorama view though.
Pros:
- Modern building, inside and outside
- Great location (nice small brewery, with friendly waiters and perfect cuisine, in front of the hotel's door one of the "must-have" points for all hotels! :))
- Calm atmosphere
- Not annoying and really helpful stuff
- Clean rooms (including bathroom), and common areas.
- Flexible breakfast time, and nice music during the breakfast
General impression - hotel is nice, but it is maybe not 4-stars, as you can expect from "average" EU level. I'd say it's more close to good 3 stars hotel, a bit expensive for that level.
And again, if you are expecting to spend couple of nights in calm atmosphere in the city center, with no huge demands - this is a good place to stay.
Perfect location
Jordanian_exploreron 13/10/2017 09:00I spent 3 nights in this Hotel.
Pros:
1. Perfect location near the sea and city center.
2. Great value for money.
3. Lovely and helpful staff.
4. When I went to the restaurant to take my breakfast, they played Arabic music as a welcoming gesture for me.
5. Car parking.
Cons:
1. Some room items need more attention regarding cleanliness such as drapes.
2. No water kettle in the room.
One of the symbols of the city
MarselaIstrefion 23/07/2017 08:14Hotel Burgas is ideally located in the center, from where you can explore the town (except to go to the beach). The hotel is one of the symbols of the city. It's an old hotel and needs renovation, but for that price it's ok (we paid 60€ p/night for double room). The service is just right for a 4-star hotel. The rooms have a wonderful view. Breakfast also needs improvement, but there is a Happy Restaurant in the hotel building that offers lots of things.
Welcome back to Burgas
Saint_Bton 17/07/2017 21:20I had room with 2 single beds. Room was mid-size, with desk, chairs, TV, coffee machine and free wi-fi. At first glance it is ordinary, but later on I found:
- sticky sign on nightstand
- nobody was cleaning carpet under the bed - dirt / dust and even coins
- You can not leave open window through the night, because there is no mosquito net but mosquitoes are outside + crazy screaming of seagulls.
- bathroom is combined with lavatory. Plumbing is rusty and leaking. Bath's curtain was dirty and I had hatch to telecommunication "Narnia" (see photos).
- lock system is strange - inside room door handle switch should be moved to lock position, otherwise when You go out from the room and close the door it will be open still.
Breakfast is buffet type and poor. Restaurant is located on the top of the building and has view on sea port.
Not all personal is speaking English well.
Wi-fi signal was not stable.
Parking has 10 or 12 places and always booked.
From benefits - cross the road You will find Brewery with a quite good beer / 250 m and You will get to very nice restaurant Happy Bar & Grill (bear in mind that You should book the table).
