Very good value for a very clean and comfortable room, with a much appreciated kettle (very rare in French hotels). Free parking and good wifi. Location next to a main road is not great as such but was very convenient for us. We can only recommend this hotel.

June 2016 for 2 nights on a once in a lifetime football trip at the Euro's with Wales.
My 85 yo father, myself and a good family friend arriving at 22.40 on a Friday night tired after all day travelling and upon arrival to be met with one of the most miserable, surly and unhelpful receptionist you can imagine. The bar was closed (in reality she could not be bothered) even though there were other people watching the France game there. Under protest she opened the bar until 23.00 (good of her) , even though she did manage to smoke two fags in that 20 minutes instead of attending to guests , which was her job (people were queueing ).No food was available either - I just felt that as France were welcoming supporters from all over Europe a little bit of effort should have been made.
The shared room was so small there was no room to fit a cat in never mind swing it, the floor had crumbs and fruit on it , so the room had not been cleaned previously. The sheets felt damp but no manager was on site to complain. He was there the next morning and we did have words, he did try to rectify the room situation by offering another room free so that 2 would fit in and one would have the other - that was good of him.
The hotel seems to be in an industrial estate and there is nothing to do around the hotel. For me , a totally depressing experience which spoilt a really good weekend. I will not stay in a Campanile ever again but Bordeaux is a really nice place to visit.
You had a captive audience and boy did the chain slam up the prices - not worth the money and if I were you ... avoid it.

Just arrived at this hotel. Having read a few poor reviews before leaving Madrid I was reading the worst. However, our room (7) is fine. Nothing suggests it is in need of renovation ! The room and bathroom are clean. Note that's "bathroom" ! Having sampled the restaurant as we were travelling with a pet. However, there is a supermarket right across the road.
Basically, it's a perfectly OK Campanile and I'm a bit annoyed at driving all day expecting the worst !

We stayed here. In April 2016 as a one nigh stay on our way to visit friends in Portugal. When we checked in the girl told us there was nothing to pay apart from any food or drink we would have that evening as we had boed via the Internet , my husband made a point of confirming this when we checked in. When. We were told evening meal would start at 7pm so that's when we went over to eat. Now the French are supposed to offer and deliver very good cuisine... mmm not our experience, I had a salad starter with some lovely warm bread, that was fine, my main was supposed to be some sort of steak in gravy with vegetables, the meat was over cooked , slimy and tasteless, the vegetables had been cooked so much they were a mushy , tasteless mess. My husband had Fish, that was in a steel dish left on a hot plate so obviously kept on cooking, it was hard, dry and tasteless , he couldn't eat it. The desserts on offer were bland and tasteless !!! There was a small bar , however nowhere comfortable to sit and relax. The Young waiter was abrupt and very rude. Our room was tiny, cold and uninviting, the pillows were like rock... Terrible nights sleep. When we went to check out and settle up we were met with the most rude, ignorant arrogant excuse for a man it has been my displeasure to deal with. We were expecting only to be charged four our evening meal and 2 glasses of wine, we were in fact again made to pay for the nights accomadation, when we told him what the young lady had confirmed more than once the previous evening he simply smirked and demanded payment.... Horrible man, Horrible pace to stay.

Basic, cheap and cheerful. After a nine hour drive we just wanted to collapse into bed and recover. Just B&B but Breakfast was not very good. Staff were OK and the place was clean. Very handy for the motorway network.
