This hotel is situated approximately 8 km from la Fortuna but it is lovely! The views are magnificent! It is convenient to have a car. We didn’t, but we booked a tour which (normally) includes transportation. For diner we went to the neighbours ‘la parillo de dona flor’. They serve great dishes of the grill/BBQ (much better than the restaurant across the street even though it doesn’t look like it. There is a mini-market close by (200mtrs). The receptionists are very helpfull. You can get a discount on the entrance to Baldi Springs. Breakfast was ok. Taxi to town will cost you 10 dollar.

One of the worst hotel experiences experienced ever! This is the first time I travel anywhere in the world where values were stolen IN THE HOTEL ROOM and very obvious that was stolen by hotel staff. Me and my father stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during our stay in La Fortuna. On the last day of our stay, me and him decided to have dinner across the restaurant across the street from 6 PM- 7: 30 PM. We came back to the room and noticed that his Tablet was not in his carry on anymore!! My hair straighter, all my expensive make up, and my cannon camera was also stolen from my back pack. It's just funny that if there was an outside thief they would not have time to go through different bags and zippers and pick and choose what they wanted to take, and would just take everything and run away! However, whoever from the hotel got in knew and could watch across the street when we were having dinner. There was no broken glass or any damage to the door, somebody had entered the room using a key! We asked the reception to call the police and filled out a report right away. Once we came back from the police station, another room's window was broken! How interesting that this was done AFTER we filed the report with the police, to make it seem like there was a thief going around all the rooms, however what kind of a thief would come back and try to steal more when there is police around?? This happened the night before we were leaving and how interesting that t happened in that 1 1/2 hour that we were gone that evening for dinner. Who else but the hotel staff would know all that information? The hotel manager did NOT even attempt to get in touch or email me to see what even happened. I emailed the hotel manager and all I got for an answer is sorry and this has never happened before. They did not even take this matter seriously and not even offered to refund me for our stay there since our things were stolen. I did not feel safe sleeping in that hotel that last night, because if it is that easy to walk in to someone's room, how are you going to feel safe sleeping there!? I would not ever recommend this place or have anyone go there because it is NOT safe. Also, there was ants all over the kitchen area, so disgusting. The AC stopped working the second day we were day and we had to change rooms. The people at the reception desk do not even understand English well except one person named Wendy who was the most helpful, everybody else had to use google translate. how is this even possible at a tourist area where there are people traveling from other parts of the world? WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! STAY AWAY, DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE HOTEL, INCLUDING THE SAFE BOX (IT DOES NOT EVEN USE A DIGITAL CODE SYSTEM, and uses a SIMPLE KEY!!!)

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Campo Verde. Individual rooms are spatious, clean and have beautiful views of Arenal Volcano from terraces. Grounds are well-kept and full of lovely plants and birds. Trail to waterfalls on premises. Breakfast was delicious. Location is very convenient to national park as well as city-center. Price was quite affordable.

Nice bungalows with good shower and airco, safe and small fridge. Beautiful view on Volcano. Own walking trail in the forest. Breakfast ok, could have some more variation. Very clean. Friendly staff. Beautiful garden.

These lodges near the Arenal volcano are very nice and spacious. Absolutely comfortable and nice. A good view towards the volcano. The only thing was the quality of the breakfast. There was not a lot of choice and it wasn't all fresh. Thereby there were a lot of flies and bugs hanging around the buffet. If they manage to improve the breakfast than this would be a top stay. These lodges are suited near all hot springs and close by the town Fortuna.
