My husband and I just returned from a week in Cartagena at San Agustin and we had the best time. The hotel, staff and food are all top notch.
Hotel: Beautiful property and very centrally located to everything in the old city, spa is great, breakfast buffet is fantastic and restaurant staff is incredible.
Rooms: We had a great room with a balcony on the 3rd floor, beds are super comfortable and we loved turn down service.
Staff: So friendly and accommodating. Katherine and all the staff at the front desk are so helpful, they speak English and can help you make dinner reservations, excursions and more.
Food: Delicious, we didn't have a bad meal. The service is a bit slow but it's vacation and it's Colombia so that's to be expected. Quality was really great and drinks were delicious.
Spa: fantastic and beautiful decor
Pool: The pool is gorgeous and the temperature is very warm HOWEVER it gets very little sun, about 2 hours in the middle of day. There's a solarium on the 3rd floor to get some more sun if you want but we went out to the beaches on most days.
My only complaint about this hotel is that there isn't a gym but everything else was truly phenomenal and we had an amazing vacation! I would highly recommend it for your next stay.

We stayed at the Tcherassi, Bastion, Pombo and here and I liked this one least. Really not worth the rating/money in comparison.
Dont get me wrong, it was nice but the rooms were small - they made is sit in a crappy attempt at a library for 4 hours while someone cleaned the tiny room.
The restaurant downstairs is supposedly great but the vegetarian food was terrible - as if they couldn't be bothered to try - also my partner wasnt very complimentary about the meat/fish either.
All around; try the tcherassi mansion or bastion instead

Hotel is next to sea and road but peaceful as an island . Take 5th floor facing sea only one aisle has open view towards sea but room balcony will face pool, which is also nice view . Great food , also explore restaurants in city .. mostly at walking distance . Hotel is expensive but worth the services though rooms are smaller unless you choose suite or bigger size . Very comfortable beds

The rooms are great - they are very spacious and cosy. The staff is very friendly (special mention to the staff at the Front desk (Katherine - and others) and at the Breakfast (Lizardo and the lady who greats you into the restaurant)) and always happy to help with any queries.
The hotel pool and the design of the hotel are just great. The food is also very good (get the Lobster Empanadas) but I would not say this is the main reason to stay there or even one of the reasons you should go to this hotel. It is all about the friendliness of the staff, the main building of the hotel including the pool, being in the old town in Cartagena and how great the rooms are.

This hotel is a part of why our getaway is way up in the top of my list.
This hotels' location is perfect esp if your vacation focuses on just being in Cartagena. Everything about this hotel screams pure elegance. Our room had a pool. High ceiling, huge bathroom! Even his and hers toilet! Haha you will feel like royalty. Afternoon pool times are perfect after wandering around the walled city. They also have a nice little cozy bar with good liquor selection and reasonable prices too. This hotel also has a restaurant the offers breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner. Had dinner there couple times, food was good! Staff were really nice and knowledgeable about their food and they try to be as helpful as they can be. We really enjoyed our stay here and we'll definitely be back! I recommend this hotel 100%!!! Book now! You won't regret it! :D
