Gestus Hotel emphasizes soul and friendliness, and they are friendly, that's true. However, the core servic could be sharpened. As I was not given any information about wi-fi when checkng in, I reckoned that it was either open access or - at least - that the information needed was in the room. No information and not even a hint about what numer to call the reception, so after having stripped my business attire and looking forward to catching up on some work, I had to get dressed again and go o the reception to get my password.
The room is OK, but the bathroom is ridiculously small. The breakfast is rudimentary, but it's there, however ending already at 9:30 - probably to make sure that all guests are out by 11:00, which is check-out-time. I asked if I could stay an hour or two longer, as my morning meeting had been cancelled, and I could, but it would cost me almost a third of my enire stay...
So - friendly and acceptable as a three star proposition, but only just...

On arrival we was greeted by a lovely young man who gave us our key and answered all our questions about what to do in Aalborg. The room was small but Adequate it had everything we needed and being on the forth floor we had a great view of the city. The beds were lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was included in the price and was very nice with hot and cold options. Overall I would recommend this hotel especially if your on a budget.

We eeeelska here for 5 days and the service was great and the location is perfect, restaurants, bars, shopping street and mall are very close to the hotel. We were here on vacation and enjoyed our trip very much.

Nice two-night stay in mid-August. The location is good in that it is close to everything but not too close to the noise of the party streets or casino. A little bit of general road noise is all, and that was not enough to keep anyone awake. The desk staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the ample breakfast buffet, which had something for every palette.
Our room was basic but clean and quite roomy. We were glad to find a reasonably priced room in town that would accommodate a family of four (king bed for us, a fold-flat sofa for one child, and a roll-away bed for the other--both were roomy enough for larger people, as well). Nothing to complain about except that we could not get the WiFi to connect in our guest room. This was not a problem in the lobby, though.
We enjoyed having access to beverages in the lobby 24/7 and the afternoon snack. Very good cake and healthy options, too. The stylish lobby offers plenty of areas for smaller or larger groups to sit and visit with a beer, glass of wine, or a hot beverage any time of day. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel, especially for families looking for a quieter place to stay while visiting charming Aalborg.
