Complete Lack of Service, Poor Attitude, Room ok
Mark Jon 06/11/2017 04:53I had a very poor experience at this hotel during my stay two weeks ago. I could not get anyone to address problems while I was there. I wrote to the hotel manager after leaving - no answer.....
1. Upon arriving, there was no one to help us with our bags at the front of the hotel. Given the surprising number of stairs and no ramp - I would think this must be a regular problem for the hotel. Even after trying to find someone inside, it was impossible. The front desk called for assistance and no one came.
2. Upon registering, we were told there were no double beds - only 2 twin beds. The woman at the front desk insisted we were mistaken that we reserved a double bed and she showed us an order from booking.com. She didn’t seem to care that I had a reservation form where I booked the hotel on Agoda.com and it was clear we reserved a double bed. She said it was our problem - not her problem.
When I tried to explain to her that it was inappropriate to tell a customer that a problem was their problem - she only repeated it. When I asked for the manager of the hotel, she said no one was in and she would not give me the name of the manager. BTW - she had blondish colored hair.
3. Upon checking out, a different woman gave me the card of the manager. I asked for assistance with our two large bags to get down the hotel steps and she said she would get someone. Once again, after about 10 minutes, we dragged the bags down the steps ourselves.
4. I wrote to the hotel manager. He never replied.
My wife and I travelled throughout Spain for 15 days and stayed in 9 hotels. This hotel was by far the worst and only negative experience. Our experiences at many of the NH hotels was superb.
This hotel needs serious staff training, as other reviews have also stated., And more staff since no one could ever be found to help in the front.
I travel a lot and don’t normally write letters to hotel managers and to sites like Tripadvisor - but this experience was so terrible I felt I had to.
Nice room
53Shadrachon 30/10/2017 17:01Our room here was comfortable, reasonably well-furnished (but lacking an in-room coffee maker and a magnifying make-up mirror in the bathroom), and was conveniently located near the heart of town. I appreciated the fact that the room had wood flooring, which I find to be more sanitary than carpeting. The biggest drawback for us was a scarcity of electrical outlets and the dimness of the room lighting.
Good location. Excellent Bar Americano.
lacbaon 18/10/2017 13:55As the Parador was full I choose this hotel because it has a good location near the old town. The rooms are big and comfortable. When you are inside the hotel it seems that it had a past grandeur that was somehow lost. The reception staff was a bit disorganized with the car parking.
It has however an excellent “Bar Americano” with a fantastic barman, very friendly, that serves wonderful drinks and makes everything possible in order for you to enjoy your stay. You leave the bar with regret.
Nice hotel, good location but cold reception
TravelW8on 04/10/2017 22:36I stayed here for business. The hotel was located great, close to a number of important places in Leon and the building itself looked quite luxurious. The room was spacious and clean. Unfortunately I won't give the hotel a great rating, as I felt the personnel was not really welcoming, I felt a bit out of place, which is not so nice when travelling alone.
Comfortable hotel
Steph Hon 20/08/2017 11:04We stayed here for a week and had a lovely time.Efficient staff were always on hand.Beds were comfortable,shower was wonderful and the black out curtains were great.For such a big hotel,I couldn't believe how quiet it was.The terrace on floor 10 is lovely and reasonably priced for a hotel.Great location in the centre of Leon close to everything.Wifi could do with being sorted out as it dropped out regularly and parking was a bit iffy (there wasn't a space on our final night)Would stay again though.
