We enjoyed th meal and the company of the people we went with. The waiter greeted us at the door and was knowedgable about the menu. However the venue was lacking in atmoshere. Disappointing in such an iconic building.

This very old Trust Fund Building has been turned into abreast hotel and in the centre of town as well. No lift but fortunately it's not that bad a climb to the floors above. Wonderful restaurant downstairs and breakfast is included with the more than reasonable price. On arrival the Port Decanter is filled and we were told to help ourselves, never ever had that before.

We stayed in the d'Urville room and enjoyed the space and nautical atmosphere. Dinner in the restaurant was good and the provided continental breakfast was plentiful and served in a pleasant room. Loved the old world atmosphere of this converted Public Trust Building with its guest lounge (with complimentary port) tucked behind old vault doors. Very central and in walking distance of shops and restaurants.

Rooms comfortable, but overwhelming smell of Janola. Staff pleasant but somehow a feeling the hotel is in a downward spiral. Previously breakfast laid out but no evidence of breakfast being served this stay. Didn't ask but just went out for a meal.

The restaurant was completely dead which meant there was no atmosphere however the waiter made up for this with his fantastic humour and service. Food was delicious and decent sizes. Cocktails were limited as the bar staff had been sent home due to how quiet it was.
