relatively cheap for that area and the room is excellent. kind of design, boutique. with apple TV. quite some taste. breakfast also very good with all sorts of things on offer. i would recommend it surely.

I booked the hotel 8 months in advance. I am a SPG Platinum Member and I booked the hotel with points. Before I arrived I asked for a upgrade as Platinum Member. They promised me but never guaranteed me. when I checked in they gave me the worst and smallest room in the hotel. When I asked the front desk she told me the hotel was booked. Instead of upgrade I got a big downgrade. The SPG Customer Service warned me ahead because this hotel does always to guests who have booked with points. This isn't fair. I was supposed to stay two night but I left first thing next morning. We couldn't stay anymore in that tiny, under roof room. I will never book again in this hotel.

The Triest surpassed all our expectations. The location was superb close to Karlsplaz so was within easy walking of everywhere we wanted to visit.
The bedroom and bathroom were stylish,comfortable and a very good size. The decision to proved an Apple PC instead of a TV was inspired though it would have been good to have access to the BBC News channel.
The decor throughout was stylish, possibly ART Deco and immaculate. We didn't use the
fitness suite.
The breakfast was tasty & plentiful . I am not sure how they managed it but even the soft boiled eggs were perfect. Plus, while we didn't indulge there was Champagne on offer.
Throughout our stay, the very efficient staff were always courteous and friendly .

The hotel is within easy walking distance of most of the major Art Galleries and places of Architectural interest. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotlessly clean. Breakfast is both "Continental" and "English". There is a tram stop about 50 metres away and Karslplatz metro only a little farther.
We were delighted with it.

We stayed at Das Triest for our short layover in Vienna. It's conveniently located near the Karlsplatz station and within walking distance of the Opera, the Hofburg Palace and St. Stephen's Cathedral.
The lobby and the common areas had a modern layout and the furnishings were simple but classy. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff welcoming.
Our room was on the second floor facing the courtyard. It was smaller than we expected but adequate for our short stay. Both the room and bathroom were immaculately clean and we love the Molton Brown amenities. Decor was modern minimalist but functional. There was an iMac in the room and wifi was pretty good.
The only complain we had was that we couldn't control the thermostat. The heat was on and the room got too warm so we had to open the window. The problem was we heard all the activity that went on in the courtyard and being a Friday night, it lasted into the wee hours of the morning. We hardly had any sleep despite the comfortable bed.
If we decide to visit Vienna again, we may still consider Das Triest but request a room in a quieter part of the hotel.
