A one night stay for us as we had an early morning International flight from Schipol. Convenient, reliable shuttle service to and from airport. Room was very adequate in accommodations. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice morning breakfast available for early morning travelers. We love La Bocca the attached Italian restaurant.
Very poor experience.

We stayed at this hotel for one night because we had an international flight very early in the morning. It is mentioned that there is a free shuttle to the hotel so as you do, we headed to the hotel shuttle pick up station. Waiting for over 20 minutes for a shuttle we decided to call the hotel. They gave us no help on when the next shuttle was and forgot to mention that it was another hotels shuttle we had to be catching. Luckily one of the shuttle drivers at the airport helped. The free airport shuttle you need to use for this hotel actually takes you to a hotel about 100m walk away. So traveling here in rainy weather was not ideal! Especially with 30kg suitcases.
Now at first i thought the man at reception couldn't speak English and that was the reason to the poor service but i slowly realized that wasn't the case. He was so rude. We couldn't believe it. We had problems with our payment process. The man was not helpful one bit with explaining it to us. As we are coming from a completely different country we just wanted to be sure the payment process was going to go through correctly. He did not seem to care one bit about this. His body language gave us the impression that we were just wasting his time.
So, finally the man walks us to our room. Which is the 2 bedroom apartment. There was a very very steep staircase, five 30kg suitcases and five young girls. When we asked the man for help he said 'um no sorry' .The fact that we had to all one by one drag our suitcases up while he watched us struggle was just disgusting. Over my 6 week holiday staying in many different hotels i had never experienced such a thing.
When we later on asked the same man to order us a Taxi into the Dam Square it was like it was a major hassle. So we figured it out ourselves and walked to the shuttle.
Despite the above, the beds were amazing and the room was very clean. It was the only positive before leaving for our 20 hour flight home. When checking out we were greeted by a lovely lady which made me slightly more happy to see there was some good service around there.
I think it would be smart to advise that the hotel DOESN'T offer a free shuttle and that it is a partnering shuttle with the hotel across the road. It would also be good if you stated to people via email or your description on booking.com that the shuttle to get on is the Ibis as many people look for the 'Herbergh Amsterdam' shuttle at the airport.
Overall it was a beautiful room and hotel. Sad about the service.

The hotel was simple, but it was really cleaned and the bed was comfortable...Everyday I received new towels. In case you need to eat, the hotel has two restaurants. Furthermore, the hotel provides free shuttle that takes you to the airport within 20 minutes. On the same avenue where the Hotel Herbergh is located, you can take the bus #356 that takes you to the Harlem city. I highly recommend to visit this marvelous city.
Always good accommodation and keep choosing this hotel for Amsterdam visiting...waitress attitude are always excellent.

Good suffer as Michelin gifs ranked and also lovely waitress attends very wonderful attitudinal serviced... even next to sideway road but not feel noisy at all, especially free parking location is very convenient to stay. Drive to dam might only take 20mins by car. :)
A poor experience

A very basic airport hotel. I didn't expect a lot from it but was, nonetheless, very disappointed by the experience we had at this place. Firstly, the reception staff is very unfriendly and unhelpful. Getting any information from them is like pulling teeth. This hotel says they provide a free shuttle to the airport, which they do, but unless you ask, they don't bother telling you that the shuttle they provide is, in fact, not theirs but is offered from the neighbouring hotel across the street. Walking to the hotel next door is not far on a nice and sunny day but Amsterdam is not in Italy or Spain, so it's very possible that you will find yourself there when the weather is not so nice, so taking a football pitch distance walk to the neighbouring hotel with your luggage wouldn't be as easy or as convenient as it seems. When we asked about the shuttle, the reception staff didn't bother telling us we had to go across the street, so we missed one shuttle and then had to waste 20-25 minutes waiting for the next one.
The free shuttle services 4 hotels in total, so it's always packed. This presents a particular problem when you are travelling from the airport to the hotel. Because there are people from 4 hotels waiting for this shuttle, you may not make the first shuttle every time and depending on when you arrive, that may mean you will wind up waiting at the airport for up to 40-50 mins until you can find some available space to get to your hotel. This isn't an acceptable service. The fact that it's free doesn't make it a good service because if it wasn't for the shuttle service, nobody would stay at this place in the middle of nowhere. All airport hotels in Amsterdam offer a free shuttle but none of them provide a service as bad as this one!
The hotel itself is basic but ok. However service standards are also very poor. We had to book a room at short notice at a high price and expected used tea cups to be washed or removed from our room, which didn't happen. I noticed the management also says to other people that help with luggage is available on request. However, to be honest, if it's not advertised, people don't really know they can request this help and this help isn't advertised.
Perhaps, there is an expectation that used tea cups would also be washed on request but, again, that's not an acceptable service.
Reception staff at the hotel has a thing or two to learn about hospitality because they are really not very informative and not at all helpful. I've travelled to Amsterdam on many occasions for work and having stayed at several airport hotels, can truly say that this is by far the worst I've experienced to date. I won't be looking to return and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either.
