If you going to Paris and need some room only for sleep that hotel is for you. It's cheap and 1* so you can't expect anything special. My room had a private bathroom wchich was clean and tidy. Service room every day. Staff very nice and helpful. Hotel has great location! Arround lot of shops and restaurants. I can't complain my visit in this hotel.
Basic, but charming

We stayed for 4 nights. This is a small, old hotel. It kind of looks and feels exactly the same as I imagined it would, nothing exclusive, maybe a touch of bohemian: steep narrow stairs, small, but warm and clean room with a sink (bathroom was down the hall, but they gave us the key and this wasn't a problem for us) and a TV. Good location. This is everything you need if you're in Paris for the sake of visiting Paris and you plan to basically only sleep in your room :). I don't think you will find a better place at a location this good for a price like this.
This hotel (hostel) will definitely ruin your trip

This is the most terrible place you can stay at in Paris. Please please don't go here. I paid 50 euros for a 12' by 7' room that had a single bed, a wash basin (YES, THERE IS NO PRIVATE BATHROOMS OR TOILETS), a tiny tv in a top corner, a small lamp above the bed. THERE WASN'T EVEN A POWER SWITCH IN THE ROOM APART FROM THE ONE THE TV WAS USING WHICH WAS NEAR THE ROOF.. That's all. The pictures you may see online are super deceiving. If you go by the pictures, you will definitely be fooled. That's what happened to me. This room felt like a prison. I felt suffocated for whatever 10-15 minutes I spent here. I work in the US and I travel alone quite a lot. I have seen bad but this was the worst.
When I saw the room, I was disturbed by what I saw. I quickly went upto the guy sitting at the reception desk, who was the owner and told him very politely that I can't take that room. It doesn't even have a power switch where am I going to charge my phone. He said you can charge your phone here at the desk. That was ridiculous. I told him I can't stay here Sorry. Could you please give me my money back or at least half of it.
Now the owner's reply, "That is impossible. You can't get any money back. It is you who has the problem. The hotel doesn't have a problem. If you want you can stay or leave"
I said that's ridiculous I have paid 50 Euros for this room and that isn't a small amount.
He said, "This is Paris, this is not India. For that kind of money, you get this in Paris. This is a 1-star hotel. What do you expect? You can go back to the palace in India you came from."
At that point I lost it. I gave him a piece of my mind. I haven't met a ruder person than him in my life and I have seen a lot since I travel a lot. I left the place and now I was standing on the streets of paris, tired after a long journey without a hotel. Fortunately my cell phone had good internet reception and I found a 3-star hotel nearby and thankfully the manager there gave me a pretty sweet last minute deal. I got a very nice, most importantly a normal hotel room.
I booked this from booking.com and in my opinion this shouldn't even be listed as an hotel.
Again, please don't go here if you do not want ruin the first day of your trip to this amazing city. Don't trust the pictures you see online. A few extra Euros will seem too much at the time but don't ruin your experience of Paris by staying here.
Spend your money elsewhere

A really disappointing stay and overpriced. A friend and I stayed for 3 nights, the first day the Wifi didnt work, the toilets were dirty and stunk, pee on the floor. The next few days they were at a better standard. The toilets are in the centre of the spiral staircase at each wall on each level, you have to squeeze yourself in there, then go back to your room to wash your hands as there is no basin in the toilet itself! In the shower room, the shower head just hung down as it was broken, there was nowhere to put clothes apart from on a few hooks/on the floor. There were no coffee/tea making facilities, there were two of us in the room but each day we were given only 1 shower towel and 1 handtowel. We were also only given 1 glass for drinking water so we had to ask for another. The rooms were made up daily, but the bed and pillows were like rocks to sleep on. Really outdated. Some reception staff were friendly but they refused to help us to print our train ticket (the first day I was there, someone happily had their ticket printed), then when we asked the first receptionist said they didnt have a printer, then the 2nd said they were out of printer paper. Obviously lying to our faces, pretty unhelpful. The location was good, but that is about it! You can hear people talking through the walls. I would recommend even staying at a hostel over this hotel, at least you have some better facilities!
Cheap

I have stayed at Hotel de la Vallée while visiting Paris two times. The location is the only good thing about it, expect for the cheap price. The rooms are small, the bathroom is in the stairway (shouldn't it rather be called a hostel when there are no bathrooms in the rooms?), and you have to pay to take a shower. It was ok for the trip my friend and I were on, but the most crazy thing about this place was that one of the receptionists sexually harrassed me by feeling me up from behind, while saying inappropriate things about how I looked and how Norwegian girls in general are so pretty. I spoke french with the staff here and I assume he was comfortable enough to say those kinds of things because it was in his own language. It's worth mentioning that the other receptionist we met there was very nice and helpful. Quite noisy street outside our window.
So in summary, if you are on a budget and want to stay close to the action it's a decent place.
