We had a three nights stay in an appartement which belongs to the hotel... Flat on first sight is nice BUT cleaning was very poor (dust and hair on the floor), we did not have a hot water for two days, toilet was leaking... Personel was very nice though, location is perfect and breakfast delicious. I believe the hotel rooms are better.

The place is more like a large Bed&Breakfast. The front door is locked and the reception is only staffed certain hours. Breakfast has to be pre-ordered. There is no real bar and/or restaurant and only a few drinks and snacks are available before 10:00 pm. When we brought in a cup of coffee and a morning snack from outside we were told that we couldn't consume it in the 'public' hotel spaces. The, very beautiful, courtyard was also off-limits although guests were smoking there. The hotel caretaker or owner came out and accused us of non-civilized behavior. When I went to explain the awkward situation at the reception he didn't come himself but the lady who acted like the reception manager was not very accommodating either. We cancelled three rooms for three nights and they still didn't even ask or care.
I would never recommend this hotel.

Fantastic hotel with great staff. 1 min to high street, and 3 mins to a €9 per stay car park ( see the reception , they have exit tickets and if you don't move the car its €9 for the entire stay!). Park outside for a few mins unloading then dump the car in the car park. Its inside the medieval walls so parking is very scarce and expensive - with the exception of the multi storey at 'Flint". ( for satnav- Coninckstraat 60, 3811 WK Amersfoort)
We had a room with a kitchen and it was very spacious. Well appointed and comfy. Lovely courtyard and period rooms. Some of the furnishings were a bit tatty, cheap and stained, hence the 4/5 rating, but otherwise perfect for a stay here.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Very nice place. The location definitely made it.

Difficult to find, no parking. Personal hygiene of person at reception was at best very bad. This is more a hostel than a hotel. Rooms do not have separate shower. Three beds per room. Old wooden floor. Reception is only open until 22.00.
Not friendly, 30 euros per night too expensive. Parking and access by car very bad. Difficult to find. Hard work to get here. Will never come here again.
I paid 70 euros. Gave my credit card details. At reception they said payment was not received. If I had paid by card which I did, the price would have been 60 euro. I would at best pay 40 euro for this room.

Searching for a hotel for one night on a business trip, I stumbled into the ‘Tabaksplan’. It is a very nice and cosy hotel, with friendly staff. The room was good, with the possibility to prepare ones own coffee or tea. The hotel is situated very close to the historic center of Amersfoort, and on walking distance from the train station.
