The Hotel di Varese is new (2011), modern and spacious. The staff were very helpful (some speak English). We stayed upstairs; the ceilings are high, with skylights (you can shade or open them). If you need an antidote to the usual Italian micro-shower, the walk-in shower at the Varese is it. Easy and free parking is behind the hotel. Breakfast is tasty and substantial.
The hotel is 2 blocks from the historic center of Varese with shops, restaurants and churches. We bought bus tickets (1.40 euros) at the store next door, walked 2 blocks and took the bus (about 1/2 hour) to Sacro Monte.
Varese is a great destination and this hotel, though a little pricey, is worth every penny.

Large rooms, chic and clean.
Breakfast with a really good bred from Tyrol. Highly recommended.

We were gladly surprised about this hotel. Front desk staff are incredibly attentive, kind and willing to provide excellent assistance. The rooms are clean, modern, confortable.
Location is very good, you get to Varese old town after a 3 minutes walk. Parking is free and they even met us with umbrellas upon our arrival while it was heavy raining.For sure will be staying at Hotel di Varese in the future.

Our stay was just perfect - as newly-weds they even gave us the room with the small sunny balcony and surprised us with a small gift.
The hotel is centrally located (including free car parking) and the staff is happy to give recommendations where to eat and where to go.
The small breakfast buffet offers all you need and leaves you with a full stomach for the day.
We will certainly be back if we happen to stay in Varese again.

A regular stop off when in the area on business or pleasure. Relaxed, courteous young staff. Always immaculate. Close to the old centre with a fabulous selection of bars and restaurants. Quite and discrete, more like staying in someone's house.
