What People are saying

Dirty hotel---Hair in sink, towel rod fell apart

anniebanerjee on 14/11/2017 14:48

This hotel was dirty. There was dirt on the floors swept to the sides. The sink had other people's hair in it. The beds were not comfortable. It was third world amenities. I have no idea how people are giving it good ratings. This one cost $82 per night. The other hotel I stayed in, Catalonia was a 5 start hotel and cost $100.

Breakfast starts whenever the cook wants to get up. We got our breakfast, uncooked eggs and some fruits, at 7:30, although we were told breakfast starts at 6 AM.

Boutique Hotel Colonial Zone Perfection

Vidaesviaje on 12/03/2017 14:48

This hotel is perfectly located and beautifully furnished with incredible renovations, artifacts, and views. Whether you're enjoying the jacuzzi on the upper floor, the pool on the ground floor, or the gorgeous 130-year old mango tree right in the middle of it all, there are plenty of details to capture your attention. There are plenty of restaurants, shops, and attractions within walking distance, and if you're there during Carnaval, even better! There is also a restaurant on site with great meal and drink options. The staff is friendly, attentive, and accommodating of a wide variety of special requests. Don't miss this chance to stay in a piece of history - you won't regret it!

Perfect!!!!!

The Hotel is beautiful, the staff is wonderful and the freshly prepared meals delicious. We could not have asked for a better experience! Such a peaceful place to spend time in Santo Domingo. Close enough to the City to appreciate all that the Capitol has to offer. Can't wait to return!!!!!

Atmospheric hotel in Zona Colonial

This little boutique hotel is housed in a building that dates back to the sixteenth century. It is very lovely and perfectly situated. The staff are wonderfully friendly, especially Carmen and they provide an excellent breakfast. The rooms are hit and miss. Our rooms, right off the lobby, were very loud and the bathroom was only accessible by going outside. My parents' room smelled of insecticide. All in all, if ambiance is more important to you than perfect accommodations, you should stay here.

quaint and pleasant find!

This is a boutique hotel in the historic district of Santo Domingo. Attached to the lobby, there's a small restaurant that serves a delicious, home-cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff was incredibly kind and the service was prompt. All of the rooms face the courtyard, where there's a pool and palm trees. Each room has its own table and chairs outside for guests to take advantage of the outdoor space. It's only a few blocks to get to the beach and to many of Santo Domingo's historical treasures.

The only thing I'd say is -- for English-speakers -- many of the staff are not bilingual, so brush up on your Spanish or take a dictionary or an app to make sure you can communicate!
