We visited gangtok in the month of august.
Doma is a good hotel. Its located in the heart of the city.
Rooms are good, clean and airy.
Room service is good. Staffs are friendly.
only disadvantage is the food.
tea or coffee is not an issue but we never got the food we requested for lunch and dinner.
Its a value for money hotel.

I stayed in this hotel for one day in the month of April'17. Location is the only good thing about this hotel. Staff is also good. This hotel seems to be an old property. Small and dirty rooms. Kitchen is on 5th floor, no lift available and was not clean. Food was OK. Not at all recommended for family.

I stayed in Gangtok's Doma Residency for 4 days. I felt no lacking in the hospitality and the approach to the customers. The room service is also very fast! Located in the M.G. Marg (New Market), this place has everything including the warmest blankets which were very much needed. The cab arrangement was on time. Highly recommended place if you're looking for a place in a reasonable range.

The hotel is dirty inside. Small rooms full of dusts. No maintanance as such. Bathrooms are really dirty. They keep kitchen dustbin in front of the entrance of the restaurant. Complete mismanagement. Only location is good. Nothing else. It feels like you are in a doomed lodge.

My parents and brother were willing to stay at Doma Residency on our trip to Gangtok. I will review it based on their lodging, trip etc facilities.
So let me tell you what I liked about the Hotel:
(1) Doma is located at the heart of MG Road. The Hotel provides a good view of entire Gangtok (beautiful at night). It is very easy to find a cab near the heavily populated road. Good shops and restaurants (The Taste of Tibet, Maharajah's etc.) are located near the hotel.
(2) The workers in the hotel are very friendly and really hardworking. Their service is really good and very prompt. They are sociable with the tourists.
However I need to point out some problems with the hotel:
(1) Needless to say, there is no wifi facility in the hotel.
(2)There is no lift facility in the hotel. The management made us climb almost 5 floors every time we went in and out of the hotel.
(3) There are some major architectural flaws in the hotel rooms. My experience is of the room claimed to be best: The Super Deluxe Room.
The bathroom toilet seats are placed near the basin in such a way that every time you sit there you have to bend your body so that the basin does not hurt you.
The TV is right below the High voltage tube. So get ready to damage your eyes.
(4)This is considerably the most important point. The Managers in the Hotel are really unprofessional regarding their job. They exchanged our Sangpo Lake Tourist permit with some other tourists, provided us really bad sumo cars, and didn't give us lower floors despite us requesting them. ( My mother has problem climbing). And when we told them that their service was really bad they just proudly said that GoIbibo had rated them 4.2 and we were supposed to change hotels if we didn't like their service.
