Duke Hotel is located in heart of Madurai City. It has reasonably well maintained infra structural hotel, dedicated staff, including security services, car spaces, non veg and veg fabulous restaurant, good and air conditioned lobby lift services for all floors and a weell educated competent staff who do also speak many-south Indian languages pleasingly
Food is not only good but very palatable, tasty and fine dining. Free breakfast is not like Langar or daily alms, hot food, tea and coffee are served in clean and neat glasses.FRESH Fruit juices of SEASONAL VEGETABLES IS VERY GOOD APPETISER BEFORE YOU HAVE YOUR BREAKFAST AND MEALS.
Room services are very good and believe it or not we are also given a huge discount if we stay for 12 hours or less. I was a recipient of this today....There are private taxi available and autos just keep going up and down..Local snarks like dhai vadas, halwa and rest south Indian food are easily available in and around Duke Hotel
Thre only complaint I can make or get is the Hotel Management asks us to give our commentys and opinions particularly bad ones....Unfortunately I had toa sak them the same if I was okay with with smiling dedicated and hard working staff

We are westerners so perhaps we were treated as special.
We had a great stay moving from another hotel which we didnt like
The wifi was very good. We were able to watch our programs online.
The food from the menu was yummy
Each time we went to the restaurant we were given a seat under the aircon
The staff were very friendly

Very worst behaviour of the staffs ...and recommended not to stay this hotel .
Because of the staffs this hotel is become horrible to stay and loosing their customers just like that..
Staffs are very rude in talking to the customers

When I visited Madurai a few days back on a unplanned visit I had not booked any hotel rooms. While I was hunting for a good place slowly driving through the busy streets of Madurai near the temple, I chanced to see this hotel. The first thought that came to my mind was a sense of relief when I saw a large car parking space. I parked and then started to read the reviews of fellow travelers on trip advisor. I found that the rating was not that great, but decided to take the risk as it was getting late into the night. Contrary to what has been experienced by a lot of people, my stay was exceptionally comfortable. Clean large rooms, good toilets and the staff were always there to help. The morning south Indian breakfast was excellent and the staff took extra care to make sure that we were attended to well. It was a pure veg restaurant. Maybe I got lucky that day, but everything was picture perfect and make my stay a very pleasant one. Yes, the toilets are a little old and needs maintenance, nevertheless they are clean and neat. This property is also listed against OYO rooms, but I found that to be much more costly than the tariff at the front desk. So I opted for a direct payment. The best part is that this hotel is near to the temple (around 10 minutes walking time) and there is enough car parking. Also I feel the hotel management is looking at the review comments and are making efforts to get it better. This may have been one of the reasons for my pleasant stay there.

The staff is jt least interest to help u n over all waste of money should never cm to dis hotel n food also worst .. staff behaviour as manner is jt terrible n rude no proper service extra bed have to wait 2 hrs n wid rude behaviour of managar to us. Never cm to dis hotel its better to b in asram
