A classic hotel dating to 1950, totally redone in 2009 after service as an FSU dorm and under other hotel chains, refreshed again just a few months ago. It advertises itself as an "upscale, boutique" hotel, and it comes close to matching that aspiration. It has a clean, modern look and feel. Good restaurant and bar. Centrally located in downtown Tallahassee, it is only a few blocks from the main FSU campus. Rooms are clean and quiet. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A small problem with the air conditioner in my room was fixed almost instantly. My only complaints: 1. No easy chair in my room, which I consider essential for reading and watching TV. 2. The free internet is a bit squirrelly, which was an issue when I joined a live session of an online class that I'm teaching. 3. The pebble tile on the floor of the shower is so rough that it hurts one's feet. But I would gladly book this hotel again.

After driving all day we finally got in at 9pm. The valet and bell service were efficient and smiling. Check-in was smooth and we got ready quickly and went down to eat something since we haven't eaten all day. Got to Schula's at 10:02... closed at 10. So the desk told us to go upstairs to Level 8. Got there at 10:06... stopped serving food at 10. Perfect. Like no food. No hordurves. Nothing. But you could drink. So we got back in the car and spent our money elsewhere.

We have stayed here twice this month for preview and orientation at FSU. We love the proximity to campus. The valet only service is so nice to not have to park or fetch the car. A perk we often skip but it is oh so nice when it is so simple.
We are marriott rewards members and Love the club level. The hostess remembers us and it feels like home to pop up there and sit in our spot to watch the news and grab a quick bite and have a cocktail.
The 8th floor terrace can be fun. Lovely view of the city. We prefer it on nights when they don't have a band and we can sit on a couch and watch a sunset.
Only negative is I prefer a soaking tub sometimes and the baths in this autograph collection hotel have glass privacy walls. I would rather have a plain old deprecate bathroom. There are a few in the hotel but there was a steep upcharge.
We plan to stay here every time we come to campus!

We stayed here on a random weekend trip to Tallahassee. I love the Autograph Collection and try to stay in one if available. Duval staff was very friendly and the hotel property was unique. The rooftop bar was nice. The room however was eh. When we head back to Tallahassee we will venture to another Marriott option.

My husband and came to Tallahassee to celebrate our anniversary and see my husband's favorite artist. We wanted to stay close to the venue. I'm glad we chose Hotel Duval. This hotel was so nice and beautiful. Clean rooms, nice toiletries, and the stone floor of the shower was perfect. It came in very handy. We stood in line for almost 9 hours trying to see our concert and I cannot describe the amount of relief the shower floor gave me.
We also ate at the restaurant Shula's for breakfast and dinner. Both were great. We had a sever by the name of Jessica and she was really nice and very professional.
The entire staff is friendly and helpful and if I ever comeback to Tallahassee 😒I know exactly where to stay!
