What a lovely hotel! Each room is a separate bungalow. There are tons of beautiful birds and great views of the volcano. Easy access to everything we wanted to do. Great, helpful staff and wonderful food. The on-site hot springs were a highlight of our trip. Definitely recommend!

WOW....this place was even better than the photos...they just don't do it justice...and neither does calling it a hotel. The "rooms" - the cabins - are so incredibly cozy and luxurious. The grounds are breathtaking. The hot springs were gorgeous and pampering. The food at the restaurant was awesome, as were the staff. The view of the volcano - mesmerizing. Highly recommended!

It would be unjust to call this place a hotel. During my travels I have found most hotels to be cold and impersonal. El Silencio del Campo is home away from home. Booking was easy and the staff were quick to answer all queries via email.
On arrival we were met by Yen who checked us in. The arrival drinks were unexpected and a welcome treat after a long drive from San Jose on a warm day. Yen was professional and caring all throughout out stay. It is obvious that she loves her job as this good energy transfers to the guests. We visited in a slow period and as such the resort was not at full occupancy and this had its advantages. Having all thermal pools to ourselves on many occasions and being able to make an immediate appointment for my complimentary facial. Can I also add that my facial was amaaaazing and so relaxing. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. The high wooden ceilings helped keep the evenings cool so we did not need our air conditioning much. The grounds are well kept. I am not very interested in birds but there are so many beautiful birds on site that come to have breakfast every morning. Even I, not being a big fan of birds would sit closest to their feeding tree each morning to watch. The property is alive with wildlife. The staff at breakfast were always pleasant and very engaging.
We had a cabin where we could sit on our veranda and see the top of the volcano. We will always have fond memories of staying here and we will definitely be returning in the (hopefully) very near future.
Don’t bother looking at other places to stay in La Fortuna. Stay here, you won’t regret it.

We had such a great time here! From the very first moment the staff was friendly and helpful. The views to the volcano are stunning and the on site hot springs were so relaxing! We traveled in the low season in late October and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The on-site restaurant was amazing, and town was a quick taxi ride away when we wanted something cheaper at a local soda. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed!
One hiccup, we had a jacuzzi room but there wasn't enough hot water to fill the tub, so it ended up being a luke warm soak. Wasn't a big deal, we didn't even mention it to the staff, but we'd probably not book that room again.
Definitely try to get a room towards the back of the property, further from the road and closer to the hot springs.

El Silencio Del Campo was a winner. The property breath taking, the views amazing, the accommodations wonderful, and the breakfast delicious. I would stay again and again. The staff very helpful with tours etc. I can not wait to go back.
