IMB95on 28/10/2017 21:42Our stay at the elephant was delightful- we had a room with a small balcony overlooking the hills - there are other nice rooms with views of the old town. The hotel is well situated near the walls of the old town but is just outside which allows for mobility and parking!
The breakfast was a feast- and their reception staff was friendly, very knowledgeable about the area and eager to share their enthusiasm about the beauty and varied activities available nearby.

RFA2249on 14/07/2017 08:10This hotel appears to have been grand at one time. The wood paneled walls, wooden floors, intricate carpets, rugs and decor give you a taste of a bygone era of opulence. Aging yes, but perhaps like a fine wine. I enjoyed my stay. The staff was extremely professional, accommodating and gracious. The restaurant is amazing. Although I loved this place, there are a few negatives: small twin, made smaller by a head board and footboard. No air conditioning. Almost lost a star for that. Great location close to the town square. I will stay here again should my travels cause me to return.
Charming Hotel
LRF17on 18/10/2016 17:14This hotel is a treasure. Read the history on the website. The public rooms are gorgeous and the rooms are exceedingly comfortable. The restaurant is superb (try the steak tartare made at table side). The desk staff was very helpful in recommendations regarding sightseeing venues. Overall, an elegant, comfortable stay.

londondb9on 13/09/2016 16:37they say it's the oldest hotel in europe. If the story is real it's for sure, 600 years old. Optimum staff, great location, amazing food and bar. Rooms are aged but you will love it. This is a charming hotel with a great position.

TheSummitson 02/09/2016 22:53Hands down best Beef Tartar I have had in my life! They make it right there in front of you to exactly how you like it. Such a lovely Hotel as well with charming staff and a great balcony to sit on and enjoy the view out over the square and the fountain.
