Be aware of construction
Casey Bon 20/11/2017 08:51Construction started at 8:30AM right outside our window. Hammering, screeching scaffolding and loud workers screaming at each other. Front desk didn’t seem to know what was going on. Bed was also extremely uncomfortable for two people.
It would have been nice to know about the construction before booking as many people like to sleep in on vacation. I wouldn’t stay here again.
Excellent location
Exinalon 07/11/2017 15:54The hotel could do with a little refurbishing but everything worked and the staff is friendly. The location is excellent, almost everything in Bilbao can be reached on foot. I enjoyed the sound of the school children, it gives life to a place.
Great Base
Janet Bon 23/10/2017 16:38We stayed here for three nights and found it comfortable and well equipped. We had an early flight so arrived expecting to drop our cases off to find that our room was ready for us which meant we could shower and freshen up before exploring. Hotel is in a good location, it’s not far to the main sites and restaurants. Breakfast was a buffet with a very large choice of hot and cold food. It was busy on our first morning, Sunday, but not so much the other days. The buffet was refreshed right until service stopped so if you aren’t an early riser, it’s probably best to go down towards the end when it wasn’t so busy. The bar area is very comfortable, and the staff were happy to provide ice and fresh milk for tea/coffee. There’s a coffee machine rather than a kettle so if you need a morning cuppa a travel kettle is a good idea, but that’s usual in Spain. We were near the school, but didn’t find the noise a problem.
Great location, not so great hotel

Previous to our visit, we checked the hotel website for parking, and noted that there was a car park on site, with no reservation necessary. Not the story when we arrived and were told the car park was fully booked. This was a bit of an inconvenience. The hotel itself isn't much to look at from the outside. It is in a great location though, and central to cafes, bars, shops etc. The reception area is really quite nice, and although we didn't eat or drink in the hotel, the bar looked nice too. Our room however, scabby! It really needed some TLC! It was very basic, and rather dated. Not generally what you expect from 4 stars. Although it was generally clean, there were cigarette burn holes in the headboards to the beds, the doors were very chipped, back to the natural wood on the corners, making them look really tired and as if no effort had been made to provide tidy accommodation. The bathroom was generally clean, but requires updating, and the shower head needs a deep clean. Chances are, if we return to Bilbao, we won't stay here again.
Good hotel in the centre of the city
Per411on 13/10/2017 12:07This is a good hotel in the centre of Bilbao. Spacious rooms, good service and bif breakfast buffet.
The biggest issue might be that there is a school next to some rooms, which might make the mornings a bit noicy if opening the windows.
