What People are saying

Great Hotel in the heart of Brussels

Laszlo C on 19/11/2017 21:50

3 of us spent 1 night in Brussels on our way to Amsterdam. The guy at the reception upon arrival was one of the most pleasent hotel receptionists I have ever dealt with. Super helpful, friendly, informative and always there when we needed something. He really made our stay special and gave us great recommendations.
The other positive thing I have to mention is the breakfast. Eventhough it is continental...you get great quality food...including smoked salmon with lots of varieties.
I would 100 percent recommend this hotel to any of my friends.
Great budget hotel with quality service.

Okay but not as advertised...

StasiaAnna on 09/07/2017 15:23

3 friends arrived to celebrate a 40th birthday...we were expecting a spa hotel (booking.com hotel facilities listed pool and wellness facilities) to be told on arrival that to get access to the one jacuzzi bath and shower with functions...we would have to book another room for the afternoon, if it was free. It is basically a pub with rooms next door - not a hotel.

The rooms are modern and clean but lack air conditioning so you need to open windows...and the nightclub (until 4am) and church bells will keep you awake.

The staff are friendly and helpful but we were disappointed and felt like we didn't get the relaxing spa weekend we had planned for (or much sleep). Also not very disability friendly.

I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Really nice friendly hotel

Good location, nice hosts, fantastic Art Deco, quaint bar. Room was spacious and modern. No air conditioning , so window was open. Narrow staircase, no lifts and I was on 4th floor, but I made it! Will definitely go back

If you have a small suitcase

I went twice to this hotel.

Room 13 is a studio. I will not advise it with hot weather because it is under the roof, so very hot. It I sold with a kitchenette, but there is none! Only a microwave, fridge and a sink (sic). No place to cook, once I signaled it, it was mentioned that for security reason, there are none. But why advertising it then... the hairdryer did not work also.

Room 11 is a room, clean, renovated one. The minibar was locked, and did not work even when I got its key. I signaled it to the hotel. After three nights still not repaired, so I could not use the fridge.

Be aware that each morning, you will hear the bell from the nearby church, just behind.
No lift in this hotel. So with suitcases, and narrow stairs, it is not convenient.

We will advise to review the advertising of this hotel in booking sites and the reality, to avoid bad surprises.

Check in nice and friendly.

Great for a few days..

Visiting Brussels for 3 days, this hotel is in a great location if you want quick and easy access to the city. 100 yards walk and you're in the middle of the shopping area, 5 mins walk and you're at the nearest underground tube station (which can take you straight to Gare du Midi - to catch the Eurostar)

Initial thoughts were that of a small quiet pub, reception IS ALSO the main bar area in the downstairs seating area. However, staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful when we asked for a basic guide of the area. Our bags were kept for the whole day (although it would've been nice to drop our bags off in the room as we had only arrived 40mins before official check-in time).

The room was an average loft-conversion but perfect for the 3 of us that had visited - not much of the art-deco that we read about however they must be in the other rooms. Beds were comfortable enough for the 2 nights we stayed. The toilet cubicle was a little small and close (once you shut the door) and the shower, although clean and perfectly functional, needs better designing. The shower curtain made it dark and difficult to keep water inside - not great for the next person getting in - and a lack of shelf or rack within the shower cubicle for shower gel, was a missing necessity.

We were also ready for the loud chimes of the city clock at 7am every day, so for anyone who is not an early bird, this may not be the room for you!

Despite its quirky nature, its a good hotel in a good location for a couple days visit in Brussels.

*be warned, this hotel is not fit for anyone disabled or with big/heavy cases. No lift available, only narrow stairs to get to the rooms.*
