Before I say any more I must say all the staff, apart from one surly receptionist, were great. This is the only reason I have given the Flamingo Oasis three and not two stars. The bar and entertainment staff, on a whole, seemed to enjoy interacting with the guests. Always smiling and keen to make everyone welcome.
We arrived in early November and although everything is spotlessly clean this is in no way a 4 star hotel. Our room was in serious need of a refit with chipped furniture, water damaged doors, faulty mirrors and a rusty bath.
Food, shall we say, was good but, again, not 4 star. The best was from a freshly carved joint of meat in the centre. There was a varied selection elsewhere, with a few stews. They were OK but all tended all to taste the same. The gravy, though, was awful - definitely not Bisto. The salad bar was probably the best choice.
Now on to the title to this review.
The first few days the room air-con seemed to work OK but not that efficiently. It got the temp down to around 20 (it was about 24 outside). On the third day it seemed to be only blowing warm air and, considering the sun shined on the balcony all day, the room got pretty hot. So off I went to tell them of the "fault" and informed a chap at reception, who duly wrote my room number down. He told me they would check the ducting - whatever that meant. The next day, no change, so off I went to enquire again. This time I was told that the hotel's rooms air-con was "turned OFF" for the winter! It was 24C outside, according to a sign and must have been pushing 30 in our room with, the sun on it all day. Open your patio doors she said! I retreated realising I wasn't going to get anywhere.
So there you have it. Great staff - bar one. Goodish food - apart from the gravy. Tired room - but spotlessly clean. Like I say, definitely not a 4 star!

Read the reviews of hotel not being so good now. they are RIGHT!
Rooms 9/10, Reception 8/10, Cafeteria/bar 8/10, Restaurant 5/10.
Arrived at lunchtime, straight to room on 17th floor-room very nice and large. over the week we got a sewage smell in the bathroom occasionally. Looking over the balcony we were AMAZED-pool in complete shade from other hotel till 2pm and NOT 1 person there.
Bar area doesnt have enough tables and chairs, although there is spare.
Restaurant-this is where the hotel falls down, first day lunch had salmon-great. For meat lovers err.... liver or pork ribs (with no meat on them). In the evening Rogan gosh, which had NO flavour at all, nor spice-same goes for the Tikka masala on another day. Its like they dont know what a curry is! We were suprised that sometimes they had a proper roast beef joint, pork wellington etc. But were fooled by the Roast Lamb in rosemary-which turned out to be a boney stew!
Rarely was there a pudding to go with the custard-pour it over cakes (which is mostly the same sponge)
It seemed that the chef has been told to cut down on spending.
Many times we walked outside to read the menu to see what we had eaten!
One night we went over the road for a 6 euro 3 course curry instead.
THE FOOD LETS IT DOWN AS A 4* HOTEL.

Our 10th stay at this hotel good food brilliant drinks entertainment not as good it used to be but Danny does a good job with staff he has and we noticed a lot of the good singers have moved on.
The bar area needs more seats as when a big party stays all chairs are round a couple of tables leaving lots of tables without any.
Bedrooms are fine with new beds and you still get plug holes gurgling.
Maids are fine and always have clean towels all in all a good holiday was had.

Just spent another week at the Flamingo Oasis, in Benidorm to celebrate the Fiesta week there. Again the hotel was tip top, the staff, the food, the drinks, the place is spotless, Thomson ( sorry) Tui were excellent too, both flights were on time and the cabin staff all very good. So it's time to book again as we will be back. A big thanks to all concerned in making our holiday great !

Went for 10 days stayed in club rooms massive on 23 rd floor sea view and mountains at the side sun all day on balcony rooms clean asked for more pillows nothing was any trouble branded drinks in club lounge only every where else 2 Euro extra food in hotel plenty full some were just warm so I went back when they put another batch of what I wonted out never went hungry snacks through the day staff worked very hard all over the hotel entertainment great we have been on a few cruise ships but the entertainment here was better then some of the ships we have been on about 15 minutes to the sea front at a slow pace lots of shops on the way bars food when on the front busy with partygoers hen and stag the old town a lot quieter little side streets lovely will be returning next year
