We had the palazzo to ourselves and the owner gave us his full attention. A warm and generous host he could not do enough for us. He even drove his car ahead as we were leaving to escort us to negotiate the narrow streets.
At breakfast we sat with a perfect view of Mt Etna volcano on a clear sunny Spring day. We were treated to freshly squeezed blood orange juice and local Sicilian honey as well as other local delicacies.
Our room was spacious and opened on to a huge patio with panoramic views of Mt Etna, the medieval city of Castiglione Sicilia and beyond. All the rooms in this palazzo are lavishly furnished with period reproductions?, padded chairs upholstered in damask, painted timber bedheads, tables and cupboards. Our room had a huge king sized bed supremely comfortable and "real" pillows. The bathroom was large with a decent shower rose and large white towels.
We stayed only one night but this is a place to indulge yourself, relax and escape from the hoards of tourists in Taormina and the hectic city of Catania. Close by is a gorge for the adventure lovers. A very special hotel indeed.

A four star hotel well deserving of five.Silvio is a great host,well informed on local history and how to explore it. Spacious clean rooms with terraces overlooking for miles with the backdrop of the Aetna vulcano,breathtaking. Takes you back in time

What a nice family and employees. They went out of their way to make the stay special - mission accomplished!!! Breakfast was lovely, they helped us with laundry and even went as far as to set us up a private cooking class at the hotel. We had been traveling since June 23 and stayed there on August 17, this was our favorite place we stayed! We originally booked 2 nights and added on 2 more. The small town feel vs the over run tourist areas was such a breath of fresh air. The views from breakfast, the pool and the terraces are amazing!
All 3 of our family members were sad to leave!!

first i would like to thank the owners- one of them was carlo, who were very nice to us, walked us around the town and were very kind. the room was big and comfturable and the view of the castle was amazing!

A friend and I stayed at Hotel Florio for a few nights during our road trip around Sicily in August 2013. The drive to the hotel was an experience in itself as it is situated high in a mountain. The town/village is beautiful and quiet and there is lots to see and do around it. From the start we were warmly welcomed at the Hotel and shown to our gorgeous room with an amazing view and huge terrace.
Breakfast in the hotel was fresh and varied and everything was clean and looked after. The restaurants in the area were lovely and the swimming pool, situated in the castle grounds around 5 mins walk from the Hotel is also beautiful.
Carlo took good care of us and without even having to ask, he made sure we had everything we needed and more. He went the extra mile on the service level due to his kindness, anticipation for our wants and needs and genuine enjoyment in his work, which made our stay truly memorable and well worth recommending.
The only downside we found was that it is quite far from Taormina and the beach bars and clubs, resulting in an expensive taxi ride back or a designated driver ;)
