Impressive pictures shown on travel booking portals made me book this hotel, But I was shocked to see the condition of badly maintained rooms, with paint peeling off, lights not working,cockroaches roaming around, dingy bathrooms, unclean glasses and flasks provided in rooms which will make you avoid using them.
The in -house facilities promised in the booking portals included "electric kettle", "tea/coffee maker"," shaving and dental kit", " fridge", "hand held shower", etc ...all of which were missing.
The wi-fi was poor and almost non existent. The TV had hardly any meaningful channels working in its subscription.
This 34 year old hotel is definitely not Value for Money. You can get AC rooms in super Lodges for much lesser.
Their one and only outsourced restaurant was more like a local restaurant with mediocre food, which left me with an upset stomach.
The breakfast included in the tariff is not buffet, but so called a la carte with a limit of Rs. 300 per day per room, not taken cumulative for the duration of the stay, nor do they care if you have paid for 3 pax in which case this limit should be enhanced.

The place must be good for fish and non vegetarian items that generally catch he eye of keralites, however it is a really dull place with issues such as variety for breakfast, cleanliness, service , ventilation. It could improve and do well since the food is pretty good.

I went there at peak and had no other choice but to go with this hotel. Stayed for 1 day. Food was good but didn't have variety. Room was stinking and very old furnitures. Electricals were atleast a 3 decade old, AC sounded like running a generator. Had tough time sleeping at night.

Stayed here for a day with family as we came for a weddin frm chennai . The reviews initially had us confused but decided to book this hotel as my dad had stayed there before .
The staff were good and really helpful rooms clean with neat bathrooms - just tht size of tv in ma room was the size of a laptop display
Also there is no elevator so u need to walk abt 20 steps up for the 1st floor which ma mom whos 64 didnt feel good abt
Else a descent hotel for a day/two

Hotel Fort Palace real made us feel like we are staying in a palace, clean room attached restaurant.
Stayed in Room 103 & 104 Good deal from MMT.
The Loaction is very close to Palakkad fort & near by shopping center.
Nice to stay with Family..
Only draw back is no lift & Swimming pool or else would have got 5* from my end..
