Have spent two days in the hotel, enjoyed stunning views from the restaurant and delicious food. Jitendra Negi, who is managing the restaurant, has provided me with all assistance and information which I have asked for. The service was really good. I was really looking forward to seeing the elephants in the National park zone opposite the restaurant - they come out from time to time in the evening, but had to be out those times in other places so will definitely be back!

After a lot of research online, we settled on Ellbee - Ganga View for our 5 day Rishikesh trip as it matched our main criteria:
1. Cleanliness
2. Proximity to Triveni Ghat for Ganga Arthi
3. Proximity places like Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula etc
Reaching there:
The hotel is located on NH-7 and hence easily accessible. It takes around 30 minutes to reach the hotel from the airport depending on traffic.
Reception:
The fragrance of aroma oil/camphor greets you as soon as you step into the lobby, giving one the feeling of stepping into a relaxing spa. We were offered a welcome drink on arrival. We reached around 2:00pm and were immediately shown to our room on the 3rd floor (city view room). We found the "spa fragrance" continued on all floors.
Rooms:
The room (305) was quite spacious and clean. The city-view rooms do not have a great view and the hotel has artistically covered the windows with paintings to block this mundane view. Since we were not going to spend too much time in the hotel during the day, we had no issues with this. The linen and towels were clean. The hotel provides a morning newspaper and 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water every day.
We had asked Mr. Krishna Negi (Front Office Manager) if we could get one of the Ganga View rooms if available. Two days after we arrived, one of the rooms (404) became
available and Krishnaji immediately upgraded us. The room has a beautiful view of the winding river and Triveni Ghat. This room was similar to the previous room with the addition of a bathtub in the bathroom.
Services:
Mr. Krishna was also kind enough to patiently understand and resolve our queries regarding sightseeing, activities etc. He also explained the various services offered by the hotel like Spa, Yoga Teacher (7am-8am) etc. The hotel also offers pickup facilities from the airport and organises rafting, trekking etc.
Restaurant:
The Sitting Elephant is a lovely restaurant on the fifth floor with indoors and outdoors seating facing the river. The restaurant offers a wide variety of options and the food was delicious. Mr. Jitendra Negi (Manager F&B) along with his staff Mr. Veer, Mr. Rajiv, Mr. Dhyanpal and others were very cordial, helpful, prompt and truly served us with a smile.
Proximity to Triveni Ghat:
The ghat is visible from the top floors of the hotel and can be reached on foot in less than 15 minutes.
Proximity to Laxman Jhula:
Laxman Jhula is 45 min drive from the hotel.
Local Travel:
The best and most economical way of travelling is by "share" auto-rickshaws (tuk-tuks) available which charge Rs.10/- ($0.15) per seat from Triveni Ghat to Laxman Jhula. Lesser distances can be reached in Rs.5/- ($0.08). You can book the entire tuk-tuk and the prices are negotiable and are usually in the range of Rs.50-Rs.100/- ($0.77 - $1.55). The ever smiling security guard Mr. Abbas Ali is more than willing to help you hail a tuk-tuk.
Do remember to pick your complimentary bottle of Ganga Jal (Water from the Ganges) from the reception during checkout.

Stayed for one night. The hotel, though small, is an excellent property with great hospitality from the staff. They called me for breakfast while I was away white water rafting and waited for me to return and have breakfast.
Room was very spacious and overlooking the Ganga. Wonderful experience for me

Stayed 4 nights & had to get buckets of hot water to bath! Which typically took over 30 minutes to get. For some reason my first review of this hotel was not accepted & then no pictures? We were supposed to receive a free night (1 of 4) but that never happened. Disgraceful @ this level - supposedly 4 star. Would never stay again. They only had solar system no back up. Staff tried to help but mostly talk & inadequate action. Brought bucket without a lotta, then further wait for that.

I have stayed in this hotel from 23rd to 26th october during my visit to rishikesh and Haridwar.
Location:
The location is on the ganga river bank and is close to the triveni ghat which is a big plus.
It is on the main road to haridwar and hence access is easy.
Rooms
Rooms are good and clean and comfortable.
Food:
The hotel has its own restaurant on the top floor called the sitting elephant which i can say is the best in Rishikesh for veg food. The breakfast spread is also wide and delicious. In te morning the staff serves us well with a smile. whatever we ordered in the room service was also good, freah and tasty, so full marks to the restaurant.
Bathroom amenities:
They are adequate and the bathrooms are also spacious. Just one grudge which could not be resolved by them was that in one of our rooms, ie room 307, the washbasin drain was choked and despite telling the housekeeping staff it was not attended. otherwise the hot water facilities is good.
Front desk and reception:
Full marks to the hotel reception team for giving a warm welcome with a welcome drink.
My experience with Mr Barinder was excellent as he was very positive and enthusiastic in helping guests.
Lastly i would like to express my sincere thanks to the hotel staff for accommodating my request from the airport of sending my forgotten item to the airport at a very nominal charge.
My son had forgotten his jacket in the hotel and we reailised it when we were at the airport. when i contacted the hotel, and explained to them the situation they were helpful and managed to send the item to the aiport. This shows the kind touch which they have.
overall the entire staff right from housekeeping, front desk, restaurant, room service is very cordial and warm.
I would gladly recommend any family travelllers to book their stay here. they also offer sightseeing vehicles at reasonable charges.
