Best hotel of Buga
Familyglobtrotter on 31/08/2017 10:49
This is the best hotel of Buga, but don't expect the european standard. The bed rooms are old, need to be refresh and don't have much light (natural and artificial).
The best thing of this hotel is their swimming pool: 25m long and has several lanes to swim. Perfect to do some sport or just enjoy the water.
The hotel is also well located.
The worst thing is the food! Their food is barely eatable (luckily, they have some restaurants close by) and the breakfast is very low quality. The water at the breakfast is tap water, with a bad taste and can make you spend your time at the bathroom...
If you're travelling with a group, be careful with the booking as they might book all the rooms in one single reservation, which means having only one bill and a hard time to know what you're paying exactly!
Great attention

Old room, but really confortable. I stay in a "cabaña" room, perfect sleeping. The attention was perfect, everybody very kind, polide and helped me in everything I needed. I really recomend it.
But I don´t recommend if you are looking for a modern, up to date type of hotel.
Festival de Bolero

Even though we stayed only one nite it was a great room and the service and the people were very nice.
We had come with a group from Aruba for the First cultural encounter of Bolero in Buga which was held in the Hotel Guadalajara on the 20. May 2017.
This event was tremendously organised by Jose Nedio Soto and his group and of course by the Hotel.
The evening was a pleasure to participate with some great artists from Colombia, like Amparito Escobar, Francesco and Carlos Giraldo, grupo Melodia and some outstanding talents from Aruba, like Efraim Antonio, Harlan Venner, Faritha Luydens, Hector Mario (TICO) Quilotte and Richard (Tattoe) Quandt.
It was a great event.
Historical Hotel but Remodeled

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and we were given room 121, which was a fairly spacious room with 3 beds (2 small doubles and a queen). The room did not have a closet - only a small armoire with a very small safe (my iPad and surface did not fit in the safe). It also had a desk and a flat screen tv but I can't opine on variety of channels as we never turned on the tv. The bathroom is small but nice and clearly has been updated. The shower water pressure was good. The hotel had free wifi and parking. This hotel has an old fashioned ballroom and my mother told me she used to go to fancy dances with live bands at this hotel in the 50s when it was a private club. The hotel is beautifully historic. Breakfast was included and consisted of fruit, eggs to order, soup, rice dish, breads, juices and a few other items. We also had lunch there one day and one of us ate from the buffet and one of us ordered off the menu. Food was just okay and my broccoli was cooked to mush. The 2 negatives of this hotel are no gym (it has an outdoor pool) and the very unfriendly and slow or lack of service in the restaurants. We got tired of asking for coffee every morning and usually got up to get it ourselves. We had to chase people down to take our lunch order.
