What People are saying
Nice view, but mediocre room
Florian Non 08/08/2017 20:26We rented a comfort room with sea view
Pro's:
We had a sea view, which was great.
Size of the room was very good.
We took our own baby bed, we didn't have to pay for our little one!
Breakfast is good as well, just too bad they don't have decaffeinated coffee.
Cons:
Bathroom is just too old. You need to stand in a bath without any anti-slipping mat, the shower is very old. For the price you pay you definitely suspect something better of the bathroom.
In the corner of the balcony we found smoked cigarets, it wasn't cleaned.
But as we stay more often at the Belgian coast the cons are actually common for almost ALL hotels... so for us this was still better then a few others we have been in ;)
Beach view
Paul Jon 06/08/2017 01:57Nice large rooms with beach view. Very quiet thanks to the double pane windows. Nice full breakfast included . WiFi works very well in the room. Clean and well furnished. Nice bathroom well equipped.
If you arrive by car, you better book a spot in their underground parking. There are barely 10 parking spots available. If this does not work, the parking becomes a real nightmare. It is a mess to drive in the town : 90% of the streets are " one way ". I was born in Belgium, spend most of my vacations in this town for 18 years. Even though, I had a hard time to find my way around without going in circles. Luckily, the town is small. Park you car ... if you can, and walk.
The service at the reception could be seriously improved.
Great hotel in a superb location - very comfotable stay
Sarah Kon 26/04/2017 23:51We stayed here over Easter - two families of four traveling together. We stayed in two family rooms which were comfortable, very clean and spacious. Didn't like the glass bathroom doors though - too noisy! The reception and downstairs area is beautifully decorated and instantly welcoming. Breakfasts were amazing - lots of choice and great quality. Staff were effective and busy in the background. Hotel is close to all shops, services and parks. Great for us, as located towards the edge of the seafront and close to the play park area at the rear. Still close enough to walk to the Sealife centre as well. Totally recommended *****
Great find .

Nice rooms, no service
LouMonikaon 08/08/2016 20:33This hotel is hard to review - we learned that it was recently purchased by a new owner and thus the service gaps and quirks we observed may not persist for long. On the plus side, the location was excellent - very central on the beach promenade and direct oceanfront location. Also, the rooms themselves are recently renovated, clean, and modern. Many have tiny tiny balconies also, or at any rate large french-like window doors that can be opened to give the illusion of a balcony to the rail. And the seaside view is outstanding for the ocean facing rooms. However, arrival by car is strange in several respects. First, gps won't get you there as the preferred route is often balustered to pedestrian only. Then, if you hand map to the street behind the hotel, there is almost no marking there even is a hotel (signage is on oceanfront side). A tiny intercom shows one tenant of a wall of buildings is the hotel - pushing the button, asking for the hotel desk, you will be asked for your reservation guest name, then told to go in a garage door that will open -- your car may or may not fit -- tip - there is a second garage (presumably for the condos attached to the building, but who knows?) which has a tiny bit more room on the up-ramp that the hotel can also make available, but even that is the tightest space this driver has ever navigated. Then be prepared, not only is there no valet, there is no bellman - you are on your own for luggage up to the room. Hotel used to have a bar and restaurant, but those too are no more. Also, in terms of staff, it does not have 24/7 housekeeping and appears to have only one desk clerk most of the time. That said, hotel is cleaned daily and breakfast is average to pretty good and those functions are staffed at their times. But otherwise, desk clerk is all there is and he is often taking phone calls or helping other guests -- example: we needed a trundle bed and desk clerk and I set it up and put sheets on it together. Considering the price for room rates, this is a bit below expectations. But again, rooms are nice - perhaps nicest on this beach...just make sure you are a low maintenance guest!
