What People are saying

The best food in Italy

Maximilliankat on 22/08/2016 21:01

I didn't stay at this hotel, but the proprietor of my hotel recommended the restaurant at Il Cortile.
I've travelled a lot through Italy and I can truly say that the food here is the best that I have ever been served in this country.

Good location in the middle of Trapani and just 5 min walk to the beach

mogrima on 03/03/2016 09:20

A small hotell in the middle of the city, close to the local beach and all shops. We had 2 rooms on the third floor with a small balcony and a shared kitchen. Very clean, helpful owners but unfortunately they dont speak any english. They drove us to the airport with their own car when it was time for us to go back. Trapani is a nice place but 6 days there was a bit too long,,all shops are closed from like 2 oclock until 5 oclock,,same with most restaurants

NICE FAMILY, CLEAN PLACE, GOOD FOOD!

toniobStVenera_Malta on 15/02/2016 16:34

We booked this Hotel, which really was before an Agritourism. The owner was very kind with us and spent time explaining where we could go. He recommended some beautiful places. The food was home made and cooked excellent. When we returned in the afternoon, he asked if we had dinner and told him that we did not, but knew the kitchen was closed, but he led us to the kitchen and asked the cook to feed us whatever we wanted. FIVE STAR TREATMENT

Family Run Property--Great if "Rustic" is your thing.

World53Traveler on 02/01/2014 20:10

This family-run operation is located near the center of Custonaci. It is a nice-looking property with a pleasant courtyard as its central focal point. The rooms however, were pretty "rustic" for my tastes. Basic furnishings, a small bathroom and sparse extras define the place. Two lights had no bulbs, and when I asked for them to be inserted, the switches to turn them off didn't work. We had to loosen the bulbs to turn them off. The fuse-box in the room make a horrendous "clicking" sound just before and after the heater kicked on. In short, the family is trying hard by this accommodation is average at best. Their dinners were fine, but I found the breakfast very lacking, with no fresh fruit or yogurt. Eggs were available when requested. In short, if your expectations are moderate, you won't be disappointed.

Incredibly Wonderful Food - Family Run

Patricia M on 06/06/2013 18:41

I returned to Il Cortile for the third time, this time for a week. The food from their kitchen is IMHO World Class, they call it home cooking. Wild greens, combined with pasta and rich broths are delicious and nourishing. The cassatelle (a crescent shaped type of a ravioli) were magically light.
My room was very large, had its own hot water heater and small refrig. Too bad it was April - the pool looked so inviting but it was too cold for me to jump in. The family was welcoming and gave advice on how to reach the spectacular Monte Cofano reserve. I took public transportation to Trapani to catch the ferry for a day trip to the Egadi Islands. It was a pleasant walk to the town of Cornino with its lovely beach front. And I had a guided tour of the unforgettable Grotto Mangiapane by one of the founders of this living museum, Don Andrea Oddo, former owner of Il Cortile. His three adult children run the hotel and restaurant now.

A visit to Sicily is a richer experience after staying at Il Cortile.
