What People are saying

Beautiful hotel

Laura1480968 on 13/11/2017 11:15

I recently visited here with my mother, this was my birthday treat to her and I'm glad to say we were both very happy with the hotel! The staff member upon our arrival was very friendly and informative, we had arrived early so she allowed us to store our bags in a safe room so that we could begin our sight seeing. Our room was very small but very quirky with all the beams on show, with a very modern bathroom which was not expected. The room had everything we needed. Breakfast was also very nice, the gentleman working the first morning we came down was extremely professional although the same can't be said for our second morning in the breakfast room when there was a female member of staff working who was extremely rude! Terrible people skills, but we didn't let this effect our overall impression of the hotel. We also wanted to say Thankyou to the lady working at night when we were there who seemed to be doing everything..she was very friendly and professional and made our stay all the better.

Lovely gem of a hotel

Stayed for one night at the hotel as part of a mini trip to Brugges. Like Brugges this hotel was quaint and superb and loved our stay even if it was short.

Greeted at reception by a female who was great and welcoming, who showed us to our room through the courtyard. Our room was on the second floor accessed by a glass elevator, the room itself was lovely and spacious and decorated nicely with also a spacious enquirer bathroom. The ceiling was high with wooden beams, very nice.

The bed was very comfort and both myself and m6 wife had a good night sleep. Breakfast is available until 10:30 which gives you plenty of time to relax and don’t feel rushed to head to breakfast because it due to finish early. This was a breakfast buffet that had a great choice and enjoyable and set you up for a day of sight seeing/shopping ahead.

The other great thing about the hotel is that you don’t have to check out until 11:00 so again gives you plenty of time to chill after breakfast.

Though there cheaper hotels, I would recommend paying that little bit extra especially if like ourselves only in Brugges for a short period.

Charming boutique hotel with amazing staff; loved it!

I stayed at Hotel Jan Brito for two nights in early September during a week-long trip through Belgium. When I got out of the taxi from the train station and stepped into the hotel lobby, I was overcome with delight. The hotel is incredibly charming and the woman at the front desk was one of the loveliest people ever. My room was on the top floor, with a beamed ceiling, a small sky light that served as the only source of light, and a modern, renovated bathroom. The room was small but for one person it was ideal. The air conditioning unit inside the room worked very well, and the skylight had a black out screen for sleeping. It was almost perfect in every way.

The hotel is centrally located. It is a 10 minute walk to the main square. Bruges can be very busy and touristy but the hotel is just off the busy area and feels very quiet and tranquil, while still close to everything you want to see in Bruges. There is a gorgeous private courtyard and garden for hotel guests and a really nice bar/lounge at the front of the hotel. In addition to its incredible charm, one of the best things about this hotel is the staff. There were two different women at the front desk during my short stay, and they were among the friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered. One even helped me to the elevator with my luggage. I did not eat breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment, but there was a beautifully appointed dining room on the main floor.

I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again the next time I visit Bruges. It was great value for the money, with old world charm combined with modern amenities.

We stayed one nice night with 3 adults and a German Shephard, ideally situated room in the hotel, very quiet. Considerate staff and perfect location near a park to walk the dog. Rooms are large with very high ceilings and beds exceptionally confortable, enjoyed also the hammam and sauna. As the dog was not used to the city life at all, this place made it possible with a friendly access.
Thank you.

A Gem

Stayed for 3 nights. Up in the roof, so had to be careful of bumping heads on the oak beams. But otherwise, a clean and tidy room with functioning bathroom and comfy bed. Very old and characterful hotel. 5 minute walk from centre. Very helpful staff. Parking a nightmare, ask for reservation for nearby underground car park if you drive to hotel. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and was an extended continental with hot beans, egg and sausages for those that do, and pastries, cold meat and cheeses for those that don't.
Overall, thoroughly recommended.
