Not even bed and breakfast

For me, most important is the hotel needs to be clean and the breakfast needs to be OK. Both are mandatory for me and both were not given at Hotel June.
The bathroom was mouldy, not just some single spots at the walls, which might happen if it is not regularly cleaned, but also the ceiling was full of mould.
The lamps in my room had been broken, not broken like they do not shine, but broken like physically broken and damaged.
All this was impossible to be overlooked if the room is getting cleaned, so it was not taken care on purpose.
We were having breakfast at 7:30, the breakfast was not filled regularly, there had always been empty blades. The juice was never refilled and we had been lucky if we got one glass before it was empty.
There was no green tea available, I asked for green tea and I got told that it is not included and will be charged separately. Why not just providing some hot water and tee bags, like it is done everywhere else?
One morning there was a knife on the floor and the waitress just put it back to the other knifes.
OK for business

Stayed here for business trip for one night. Hotel is a bit hard to find and not central. Staff is friendly and speak english reasonably well. Rooms are ok, not special. Shower is also fine, but don't expect anything grand. Breakfast however was better than average.
Great Value for money

Small cozy hotel set up, but surprisingly the room is quite big and modern. Big TV screen and bed. Breakfast selection variety. The location is not so good as it is far away from any shopping mall or entertainment. There is 24 hour convenient store just in front the hotel. About 500 m in the main road, you can find few restaurant to dine. But all of them close at 9.00 pm
Large modern rooms

Hotel is small and not in a central location. But if you needed to be in the Neihu district then this hotel works. The facilities are modern and clean. The room was large but it smelled a little mildew-y. Convenience store is conveniently located across the street from the hotel.
Safe haven

My visit in Taipei wasn't a happy one unfortunately. My mother was gravely ill so I flew over on the first plane I could find. I chose the hotel purely for its proximity to the hospital my mother stayed in which was only a few minutes away. But I really glad I did.
I wasn't able to check in for the first night since I was at the intensive care with my mum. I informed the hotel, and they were extremely helpful and assured me that my room would be kept and a day would be deducted from the bill (out of 6 nights), despite the fact that it was booked with a 3rd party site and it was very last minute.
My mother passed away the following day. Naturally I was in pieces. I also hadn't slept for over 24hrs by that point. I checked in with the hotel, had a good cry, and crashed.
The following few days were occupied with funeral arrangements and meetings with family members. I stayed in a Double Deluxe room, and every night I would look forward to going back to the hotel. The staff was always warm and my bed was always crisp and very comfortable. It was probably the biggest double bed I ever slept on. During my stay in Taipei, the hotel room became my haven away from the harsh reality I had to face.
The room had two buttons where you could switch between "Do not disturb" and "Please clean my room". As I almost never left my room before noon due to jet-lag and general exhaustion, it was extremely handy.
The hotel restaurant was also a joy. Since I'm a vegan, they prepared dishes specially for me which were not on the menu. And they were delicious. The buffet also had plenty of veggies to choose from.
I could go on, but what I really wanted to say is Thank You Hotel June. Thank you for bringing a sense of relief during a very traumatic time of my life. I hope to stay with you again, but hopefully, on a much happier occasion.
