Very pleasant stay

We were there for 2 nights and were very satisfied. Nice room, efficient and friendly staff. Breakfast was very good with lot of choices. We had dinner at the Brasserie (not the restaurant) and food was good too (not like in a gastronomic one but nice). The hotel is well located, closed to the small castel. The only minor point of improvement would be regarding the parking (not easy to find).
Clean, kind and excellent breakfast!

We stayed 1 night with a Bongo-bon! Perfect choice: in the center where a few walks start, close to 2 parkings outside (0,5 euro per hour) and the breakfast is yammi! Larg selection and a delicious Luxembourg-cava!
Group trip to Clervaux and Luxembourg

Excellent facilities at the hotel. Excellent food. Safe secure car parking (for 18 motorcycles). Staff were extremely helpful. Location was fabulous as we wanted to explore the area and there are museums in the town, also walks. Good riding roads too. Easy to get to Luxembourg City and staff were helpful advising where to go and what to see. The hotel was visited last year and I was sufficiently impressed to book it for this years trip. I wasn't disappointed, its one of the 5 best hotels I've used in 26 years of organising trips.
I love it

This hotel has three stars. It used to have four. The reason it has three, I was told by the excellent reception guy, was that the family interest that owns the three hotels in this little complex, felt they should offer a wider range of pricing, so the other two kept their five and four stars and they voluntarily rate the Koener as three stars. Kind of madness, but if it brings the price down to be as affordable as it was for such a great stay, then I'm happy with their decision.
The staff are lovely, like to chat and are generally funny (always a plus, nothing worse than over-straight staff), the room was excellent, with a big bathroom with separate WC, granite surfaces, spa-bath thing (always a mystery to me - why lie in the bath while it sounds like somebody is starting up a WW2 fighter plane right next to you, but hey ho...).
Bistro food is very good; the breakfast choice is stupendous; I didn't eat in the restaurant, which I now think was a mistake. Next time.
Parking: The hotel has its own parking, but I reckon it's cheaper to find a space in one of the several car parks in Clervaux - none is more than maybe three minutes walk from the hotel.
The location is spot on in the middle of the village. A couple of minutes from the hotel is the château/Schloss/Buerg which houses the internationally famous Family of Man photographic exhibition, curated by Luxembourg's Edward Steichen in the 1950s and which toured the world in the post-war period reminding everybody how good humanity could be. It's cheap to get in and worth every cent.
Country walks abound.
If the Second World War is your thing, there is fairly small but intense Battle of the Bulge museum (privately run) in the château. The town was destroyed in the battle and what you see now is mostly rebuilt - one of the American Sherman tanks involved in the fighting can be seen at the château, bearing the marks of two non-penetrating hits from a German anti-tank gun. The crew saw sense after the turret was jammed, and bailed out safely. To frighten us, there is a grim Pak43 88mm anti-tank gun next to the Sherman.
Aachen and Maastricht are 1.5 hours away by car; lovely Luxembourg City is an hour or a little less. Bastogne is half an hour or so. All the drives are through lovely countryside.
The Koener couldn't be in a better place. From my experience the Koener would struggle to be a better hotel for the money, I think it is well under-sold (Dear Koener, please do not take that as an invitation to increase your prices!). Can't recommend it enough.
Nice hotel in Clervaux centre

I stayed one night in this hotel and will recommend it as a fine hotel of its class (3 stars). It is perfectly located in the centre of Clervaux, rooms are rather large, well-kept and clean, bathrooms in good shape. No air condition in my room. Reception service is great, breakfast buffet fair but nothing special. There is an indoor swimming pool and wellness area as well as a fine fitness room. This hotel is a good bargain for a 3 star hotel.
