Beautiful location, excellent service
Lieke Jon 09/06/2017 10:22This hotel is a gem! Situated right near a small beach, the hotel has stunning views and a wonderful relaxing garden with pool, hammocks and beanbags dispersed around. The two restaurants (one open for lunch only near the sea) are lovely, you can choose a la carte or half board. The service is exceptional, from the restaurant staff, bar staff and pool man- very service-oriented yet discreet. Very child friendly, yet chique and great for couples. Recommend taking a superior room for bigger size and better views. Also recommend renting a car, as the location is quite isolated. It is well situated to explore northern Sardegna. We're definitely coming back!
Small Luxury Hotel
BadinhoOxonon 29/05/2017 18:02The hotel is well deserved of its small luxury hotels membership. We stayed for 5 nights during its opening week of the season with our 5 yr old daughter. The swimming pool and beach are great although water was a tad too cold for me. The views to the golfo are amazing and the grounds are kept spotless. My daughter spent a great deal of time in the pool, so temperature may be ok for some. Special commendation to the staff, who were always smiling and proving amazing service. Each one looked like they were genuinely enjoying working at this hotel. I have no doubt that energy will continue throughout the season. Room was small, but adequate as we spent very little time in it. The hotel loses one star due to the day-time food. Or should I say lack of it. Whilst the hotel calls itself a hotel and "beach club", there was no food available outside of lunch and dinner (which was tasty and formal style like primi, secondi, etc). I would have liked to have seen snack style food served throughout the day, like; calamari, scampi, fries, burgers, fish and other delicacies that one my expect to find in a beach club. The hotel is missing a trick here.... Apart from that, I could not fault this hotel or more importantly; its staff.
Perfect, classy, relaxing hotel in an idyllic location
ThelmaDublin_Irelandon 26/05/2017 22:17My new husband and I checked in for a 2 day stay as part of our honeymoon and left five days later after extending our holiday at this beautiful hotel. (Forfeiting a nights stay in our intended next hotel). We had previously stayed in Baia Sardinia so expected a lot from this location. The hotel had just opened for the season. On arrival we knew this hotel was exactly what we wanted. It was spotlessly clean and the staff were extremely attentive and professional. We relaxed immediately and had a lovely rest well away from crowds but with discreet and attentive service for coffees and aperitvos. We stayed in room 53 with sea view. The hotel is located at a beautiful bay with crystal clear waters. As other reviewers say it is at a remote location , about 2,5 k from a lovely village which has some nice little restaurants. The hotel food was A1, along with great service and smiles. We ate twice at the beachfront restaurant and availed of the specials of the day and three times inside at the restaurant. We also ate in the village as well. Both were great. While it is a luxury hotel we found the pricing to be favourable when compared with Baia Sardinia.
I also had a spa treatment and particularly liked the facial, the massage technique was somewhat different to what I normally have but relaxing nevertheless.
This location is very suitable for couples and those who want a quiet time. During most of our stay it was all couples and I imagine they had a fantastic time as us! The restaurant was busy throughout.
I read the reviews carefully before booking and I think some are unfair to this magical location and special hotel. Put simply, I think this hotel is wonderful for adults who want to get away from it all and have a rental car.
On our last day a group of English families arrived with small kids which took away from the tranquility of the lazy afternoon as the pool was busy and the restaurant less ambient with kiddies at dinner but I'm sure the parents were relaxed as they all settled in. I would suggest that this is not a hotel suited to children for a long stay.
Thank you to all at Hotel La Coluccia for your care and hospitality, best wishes for the season ahead.
Disappointing food but nice hotel with very nice staff
cassymickyon 31/10/2016 19:02This hotel is lovely but at the end of a two mile track with no public transport or shuttle service to nearest town. Nice pool area and good but small beach area. Hotel was very clean. Staff pleasant and helpful. Food was sparse and not value for money. Big plates with small nouvelle cuisine type food. Breakfast self service was constantly running out with queues waiting for replenishments. Poached eggs were extra and cost more. Tea was normally cold so settled for coffee. Bar snacks were limited to certain times and none were available in the evening. Outside area was lovely but infested with wasps so only the hardy sat outside. Hire car is a necessity not an option. Guests took to using small Sardinian pizzarria in local town 4 kilometres away now that was really good food. Hotel bar deserted after 9pm.
Lovely boutique hotel
JanSydneyAustraliaon 18/09/2016 10:31We stayed 5 nights at this hotel hotel & it's grounds are lovely as is the beach with its crystal clear water. Service and staff is very good all except some of the male breakfast waiters who seems to be a little too serious when asked for anything but all the restaurants provided delicious fresh food. Beautiful live music was played each night by the main restaurant which created a lovely atmosphere.
I would like to say a special thank you to three staff members.Maria and Sylvana at reception went the extra mile helping us book a fantastic boating day out. These two ladies at reception are always smiling and greeting each time we passed by reception. Also Valerie a waitress at the restaurant was wonderful as her English was excellent and her customer service was a credit to her.
A negative at this hotel was that we booked a partial Seaview room and all we got was a small glimpse of water as the bushes outside the veranda had not been trimmed down so they hid the view which was was disappointing for us. Also the small bedroom and bathroom was disappointing as it was a little cramped and some nights we got a turndown service and some nights we didn't. Wifi was good in the room.I have stayed in many Small Luxury Hotels around the world and am a member of this organisation and I did not feel that this hotel met all my expectations in all areas.
Overall it was an enjoyable stay.
