On a working holiday, we loved the helpful staff, and the location convenient to La Jolla Shores and just down the hill from UCSD. Every detail was lovely. Our three-year-old loved the beach toys and beach towels available for borrowing at the desk. (Had I been on my own, I would have taken advantage of one of the bicycles which likewise were available to borrow.) When my wife had an online exam to take in the middle of the night (9am British time), the staff opened one of the conference rooms for her, and the wifi (which is free if one joins the HHonors loyalty scheme) performed perfectly. The hotel is just across La Jolla Shores Drive from Avenida de la Playa, six blocks from the beach: We fell into a habit of regular brunches at the Shorehouse Kitchen (everything is good, but try the Pork Carnitas Chilaquiles alongside one of their speciality coffees), and met friends for dinner at Osteria Romantica. For quick eats at odd hours, the petrol station next to the hotel sells sandwiches and snacks. From the bus stop at Avenida de la Playa it's easy to ride to UCSD if you haven't time or energy for the hill, or downtown for connections to the trolley.

Job well done. The facilities were very nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast items. They don't have a hot tub and it was almost too cold to swim while we were there in early June. Can't connect to any internet TV services. The balcony was a nice touch and the location was perfect.

The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were clean and beat. Don't believe them when they say there's a ocean view. There's not! The staff was horrible! Bad attitude about everything. When we asked firnitykd wzter they told us to walk to the gas station and buy it. Couldn't get bags delivered to room, we had to go down and get them. Just or service all the way around.

My husband and I stayed for a night and it was the perfect one night getaway! The room was so nice, clean and modern. The views from the room were breathtaking, the service was phenomenal and the food was amazing! I am from San Diego and have stayed at a couple hotels but this was my favorite. I will definitely be recommending it to family and friends.

I'm a frequent traveler internationally and domestically. This was my first stay at a Curio brand hotel. Although I'm a gold hhonors member, the experience I had with checkin/room type has left me disappointed. Cleanliness of the room, noise level and the bed comfort left much to be desired. Excellent location however. Walking distance to La Jolla Cove, the beach. $37/ day to park in an 75% empty lot seemed exorbitant. No discount on that through AAA rate either. We chose to street park for free around the corner.
