Most disgusting hotel experience in Dakar
Sunil Kon 27/09/2017 20:41The rooms are located at the bay of ocean, no inernet working, pathetic room service. A/c leakage in the hall, old uncomfortable sofas. I wanted to press my shirt for next morning and theri laundry was closed at 4PM, they don't give machine to your room. At 8AM, laundry was suppose to open till 9AM no sign of laundry person had locked the door. What a joke! I had leave the clothes in the bag for laundry and it was lying in the evening. When called at reception, it's an error they replied. I suggest to all working professionals never choose this lousy place to stay for even one day. I have reported to travel agent to not choose this hotel to any other guests. The most disgusting part is the reception handling team is so arogant and will keep saying you its not possible.
EXCELLENT IDEA FOR HOTEL – LIVING IN THE PAST CENTURY
Trave1Banditon 12/07/2017 19:20To start the review off, I will say that the idea is original, and an excellent idea at that. The hotel is made to simulate a boat, with room doors and little port-hole windows, the idea of a boat comes through very nicely. So, this was my experience in this hotel:
POSITIVE POINTS:
I must commend the staff in every single part of the hotel, since they are truly friendly and helpful in every sense of the word. The cleaning staff also do an excellent job of keeping the hotel spotless… WELL DONE.
As mentioned, I like the theme of the hotel, and with every room facing the water, it is simply relaxing to spend time in the room, and hearing the waves break as you ease off to sleep. Brilliant.
Air-conditioning in the room is perfect… really cooling my room down. Truly needed, as the scorching heat beats down on this part of the earth.
Bed is comfortable, and there is a small pillow choice. Suited me fine, I must say. I must also mention that I thought the soundproofing in the hotel is great.
Internet is free, and although it is relatively slow, it got the job done with a little patience.
NEGATIVE POINTS:
I must start by saying that the shower is disappointing. Yes, the water pressure is fine, but there is no HOT water. I suppose that they think it is hot enough… but for me, I like a nice hot shower in the morning (but that’s just me, I suppose).
Room is bare, poorly decorated, paint peeling in certain areas and really starting to feel overtaken by time with really dire furniture. In fact, the WHOLE place needs a good face-lift. To me, the hotel has such enormous potential, should the management decide to bring it into the 21st century. It is stuck in the past, and in desperate need of updating.
In the state it is at the moment, it is FAR TOO expensive for what it is. Update this hotel, keeping the theme, and this price would be fair… but not as it is at the moment.
Breakfast is really poor for a so called 4-star hotel. Choices are truly basic and limited.
SUMMING UP:
I loved the theme of the hotel, and I have mentioned more than once. However, it is overpriced, while it still sits inanimately stuck in the 1980’s. I would not return to this place, unless there was a strong investment in a decent face-lift.
Working days
Eduardo Gon 17/05/2017 18:03Sleep in this hotel is not a bad decision. It is original, the rooms seems a vessel rooms. Is an older decoration but in real good state. Wifi free.
The problem is the breaksfast, start at 7 am, but with not to many options for eat. Around 7:20 everything is on site(bread, coffee, yogurts, juices, croasants, bananas, mot much more) and 8:30 there is nothing to eat.
The restaurant don't have a big menu, but the taste of all is good. Slow speed for everything.
The Price was 72500 per night.
The street of the hotel is in not good conditions.
Far too expensive for what you get
Aurélie Lon 23/04/2017 08:54This hotel saw its best times in the 80s, however it hasn't been renovated since.
Rooms are not perfectly clean (wallpaper has weird things on it, probably from killing too many Moskitoes and not cleaning up afterwards...), found things under the couch etc
Internet didn't always work in the room. Location is nice, but not worth paying the price, when you can find better options nearby.
Also : breakfast?!?! You have to pay extra if you want eggs, fresh orange juice or real coffee from the coffee machine. Hostel style for 5 times the price. We were quite disappointed...
