This hotel has satisfied every basic need without going very much further at all. Kind of like a glass of water. It does a job, and you'd take it, but if you're on holiday you'd rather have a beer, or even a cocktail. So let's just say this hotel is fine - go for it and be happy it's reasonably clean and safe.
The shower was a bit weird. It didn't seem to have much of a shower head but the water was hot. The wifi worked even in my room as they use multiple wifi points (hoorayyy!) The bed was acceptable. There were a few ants knocking about but I think that might be par for the course in this part of the world.
The location is a 10 minute walk from the centre but there's not much in the centre. Los Yoses is a good area to stay in I'd say.
The food here is okay here though, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The blandness was offset by Leo’s outstanding customer service. Breakfast starts late. Not sure if they even have dinner. Good enough but average
Parking is nonexistent and the hotel is hard to find. The hotel is in close proximity to lots of interesting places

This hotel was the starting and finishing point for my group tour. After the trip I could extend my stay to very good conditions. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and the free WiFi works also in the rooms. The restaurant and the breakfast is good too. I enjoyed to stay here.

Well kept, walking distance to city center - 15-20 minutes. Very good kitchen and friendly bar. Family-like atmosphere. Definiteley worth it and I will be back next time in Costa Rica, after having been there for almost three weeks.

This hotel is located outside of San Jose city center. Fortunately there are quite a few restaurants and grocery stores in the vicinity. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Wifi works in the rooms.
The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Didn't try breakfast, so can't say how good it is.
