We were surprised how close the hotel was to the main area of town. The hotel is older but we chose it for the classic feel and it was delightful. Breakfast in the morning was reduced as a special price and great selection.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Firstly the hotel atmosphere is lovely, and it is very conveniently located near the Avignon Centre train station/city walls. The cloister has been converted into a hotel. This means that there is a single tiny elevator to take you to each floor. Unfortunately for us, our room was up on a mezzanine level only accessible by stairs. There were no hotel staff to help us with our bags.
Our room was spacious including a separate living area. The bathroom was very poorly designed with no light in the shower (literally it was pitch dark), and a bath tub with an extremely high faucet meaning the water went all over the bathroom floor.
There were multiple boulangeries and restaurants in easy reach of the hotel. Overall I would recommend this hotel for the atmosphere and location.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Cloitre Saint Louis. We arrived at the High speed station and took a cab directly to the hotel for less than $20€, and were warmly greeted. Since we arrived prior to check-in, we left our bags and strolled around beautiful Avignon. The hotel is set in an old monastery so the rooms have a unique set up, which we liked. Our room had a balcony and was spacious and very quiet. The bathroom is modern with a good shower. The location is perfect for seeing all of Avignon on foot as it is located within the old walls of the city. Also, it is a short walk to the local train station for day trips. The hotel staff is friendly, helpful and every one we encountered spoke excellent English. We opted for the hotel breakfast for $15€ per person, and it was very good if a little pricey. The breakfast had a wide selection of cheeses, meats, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, plus scrambled eggs and bacon, coffee, tea, juice, and of course, pastries. The hotel also has a restaurant open in the evenings, but we did not eat there...too many other enticing little places scattered around Avignon. Good value for the money and we would stay there again.

We liked the hotel. It is quiet central 15 minutes walking distance to popes palace.
Staff was friendly and breakfast good.
Parking is available for 15€ per day
Rooms are Ok, nothing spectacular though.
We thought only thing which was bad, were the thin walls
You could hear everyone talking on floor as if they'd be right next to you.
Anyhow, we thought it was good

The hotel is housed within a beautiful 16th century building and located within the old town so that al of the sightseeing areas such as the papal palace, Pont d'Avignon, etc. are in easy walking distance. The historic interior is pleasantly appointed with modern furniture and lighting and the bedrooms are pleasantly furnished. The breakfast buffet was slightly chaotic. The secure parking is worth the Euro15 but otherwise the hotel is somewhat expensive for what it offers.
