It's probably a bit unfair to comment on the Majestic 'makeover' , regarded by some as a bit basic . The hotel has re-opened after considerable flood damage and the furnishing and decor is modern , bright and cheerful . We stayed in the adjacent apartments , which are managed by the hotel and found the staff to be friendly and helpful especially in getting my husband's emails accessed ! We also ate once in the restaurant : pleasant service and reasonably priced food .

We came here to watch the Tour de France in 2012. Everything was very lovely with gorgeous views of the mountains or the town depending on which side of the hotel you were on. We had three rooms so we saw both views. The service was very nice, especially considering how many people were in town for the Tour. The only negative is that to work out, you go to the spa in town instead of the hotel - but that was a fun experience in itself. Great value.

We stayed for two nights. Everything was rather basic, but then again we did not pay a very high prize. So we enjoyed what we got. The room is spacious and has a friedndly decoration in fresh colours, the beds are good and because of the balcony we had enough fresh air.

Requested a quiet room in the hotel and that's what we got. There was a large party in the main salon but we did not hear it. Rated 3 star we had large room with large bathroom and very clean. Good value priced per room including generous continental breakfast. Good service welcoming staff. Recommended if on a budget but want space.

Once a truly majestic hotel, this has been refurbished by Ikea, and everything done to make this hotel run at the cheapest cost possible. Staff are friendly but untrained. The restaurant now looks like a works canteen - dreadful cheap furniture, awful lighting etc. The breakfast is minimal and very disappointing (especially at 11 Euros).
The rooms are clean, and bathrooms generously sized, but do you expect Ikea and an Ikea mentality in a 3 star hotel? We don't!
Eat at Le Baluchon. Excellent! The only "proper" restaurant in a town of very average brasseries.
