We didn't get the room we asked (with two large beds) and had small beds instead. The staff had nothing to care about it and did nothing.
The hotel is noisy and very dirty and so the room.
The room was really dark and we had no control the heating despite it was very cold.
You have the breakfast served in the room and have to choose the time of serving the day before.
Very expensive for the service delivered.

We booked last minute. We were allowed to check in very early, which we really appreciated. Overall, this is a GOOD 2-star hotel; it should not be compared with any other hotel category, otherwise it would not be fair.
We paid just $75/night for a Saturday night. The room was clean, but with old carpets and old comforter, old furniture, pinesol smell, you get it...this is JUST a place to rest your head for the night, and save your money for nice restaurants...we certainly didn't look forward to coming back to the hotel at nights.
Things I really liked about the hotel: excellent central location, having continental breakfast served promptly to our room, the very friendly and kind staff at the reception. The hotel was nice and warm at night, and it wasn't loud (contrary to other reviews; maybe we got a quiet crowd the night we stayed).
We saw rooms with wooden floors...those looked upgraded, and I probably would have given a 4-score if I'd stayed in such a room.
My score is actually 3.5/5 but TA won't let you give half scores.

This hotel has a perfect location to visit the Gay Village, not much else. Don’t get me wrong, I found it met my needs. Just old and outdated. But for value it’s perfect, book ahead they are usually sold out.

If you are frills free and not skittish this hotel is for you, I actually screamed when I walked unto the room, the walls were snot green and pumpkin orange. The bed concave and low to the ground, the window overlooking crackheads. I quickly called the hotel operator and got moved to a better location ! Scarey!

The bathroom is clean, water pressure is decent, after 2 mins there is warmer water. The staff is so helpful. They recommended how to get to Jean Drapeau by boat and where to get rainboots during the summer rainstorm. The in room breakfast of bread and water, including warm croissant, is such a bonus. THANKS for the very homey stay. Tip ask for hairdryer when you arrive and return it.
