A vey quaint hotel with everything you need for a lovely stay. The staff were wonderful. Only draw back is it is a little way from Odessa's heart - a pleasant 30 min stroll or short and cheap cab ride. Thank you!

In short, disrespectful receptionist, who messed up with my reservation, unsatisfactory cleanness of the room, poor breakfast and overall bad experience. Everything didnt work as it should. Receptionist at checkin told me that there was no reservation for my name and started to demand money for stay rudely. When I called manager, she actually found my reservation and the receptionist for some reason just didnt see it. And no word of appologie! I was handed out the key, there was nobody to help me with suitcase. In room I saw much of dust in living room and sand in bathroom. Breakfast was pathetic. Total disappointment. Sorry

Nice small hotel

Hotel Lermontovskiy is located just outside the centre of Odessa on Lermontovskiy Lane. It is a quiet, unassuming hotel opposite the Belarus Consulate. Adjacent to the hotel is the former Soviet orthopaedic rehabilitation sanatorium which has beautiful grounds well worth an evening stroll. From the far end there is a spectacular view of the Black Sea. Statues, trees and plants dot the landscape and the lilac was in bloom during my visit which smelt wonderful.

The hotel has small but adequate rooms with en-suite facilities. The bed is comfortable and the wifi good (and free). Probably a three star hotel with small breakfast room and wonderful restaurant at the rear - Chacha serving Georgian cuisine. I will write separately on the restaurant, but a visit is highly recommended with great outdoor seating in a landscaped garden or indoors for colder days. Beware however that you can not sign your foot bill to the hotel and that will need to be settled separately at the restaurant.

The cost of the hotel is extremely good value. I stayed one night and needed a late check out the following day for which there was a half day charge. Including breakfast the bill amounted to only USD 45 - of course in part due to the desperate demise of the local currency due to the political climate and lack of tourists. Credit cards accepted without surcharge. If you are looking for a hotel in the leafy suburbs within walking distance of the centre (less than 2 kms) this is an excellent choice. Great value.

Very pleasant stay

This hotel, located on a very quiet side street, is basic but exceptionally clean and well tended. This is a sister hotel to the Alexandrovskiy Hotel which was fully booked. They recommended this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised to find that my misgivings were fully unfounded.

The staff, without exception, were very helpful and efficient. Any request was attended to immediately, I was impressed. I was booked with no delay into a suite with a sitting room and a large bedroom. The bathroom is small but again, incredibly clean. Major hotel chains could learn from the staff here regarding cleanliness.

Immediately behind the hotel is an excellent restaurant which is located in a beautiful garden. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, so do not fear the weather, it is a great place to relax and enjoy a wonderful meal. This garden and restaurant are completely unapparent from the street, very private, quiet and relaxing.

The city center is approximately 15 minutes walk from the hotel, the seaside even less. Very convenient.

Without doubt, I will book this hotel on my next trip to Odessa.
