What People are saying

Well Located !!

MTRating on 13/06/2017 12:23

We stayed for two nights at the hotel. The hotel is well located and is easy to find. We were checked into a room with the blocked door (the key card was not working). The problem was resolved immediately and we were provided with another room on the same floor. We had the lunch at the poolside and we really enjoyed the sun, beer and the food. Our attendant was very kind and helpful. The city center is only 10-12 mins by car from the hotel and Alhambra only 6-7 mins. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety. We wanted to try the Spa and we had a talk with the spa receptionist asking the offers. We told her that we have a check out (12 pm) the next day. She commented that it would be fine if we can check out after the massage. However, to my disappointment when we called the reception asking and confirming the same the receptionist directly said no without asking if we would need just half an hour more for check out. Actually we were planning the Spa offer for couples which takes 1.5 hours. From 10:30 to 12:00 we would have taken the offer but i felt a bit rushed with the check out time and the spa hours (of course i would like to enjoy the massage without much rush) . Maybe for the next time if we repeat. Also 2 days were quite short to enjoy all the services of the hotel and local attractions (we covered Alhambra and Science Park in this trip.)

convenient location to Alhambra/Granada-

This is a sleek modern hotel with cheerful decor slightly outside the city center but very close to the Alhambra, a taxi ride was only 5 euros to the latter. Hotel is great for auto travelers as it offers an underground parking garage with spacious spots and it is very accessible from the highway. The city center is also just a short cab ride away. We got a junior suite which was very spacious with a bedroom and separate living room that accommodated a sofa bed, a sitting area and a writing desk. Plenty of room for a family of four. The bathroom was also very spacious. Our suite (on the top floor) also has a very large balcony, which offers views of the mountain and the highway. It is generally a pretty quiet area, but when we left the window open one night (due to the AC not working properly) I was woken up by some very loud delivery people talking outside, which marred an otherwise perfect stay. Not entirely the hotel's fault and we also forgot to tell them about the malfunctioning AC. The breakfast room was pleasant and offered a number of interesting Spanish breakfast items in addition to the usual ham and cheese.

Beware of the staff...!

We stayed here for two nights on a Leger holiday.

The hotel is situated out of the city but very close to the Alhambra so ideal for visitors to this amazing palace complex.

Nice clean hotel with large foyer. Small outdoor pool -- which suffers from shading in the afternoon. Our room was spacious and clean with a nice bathroom. The free wifi was very slow.

There are very few shops or cafes nearby. A local bus provides a cheap and speedy service to the city.

Having looked at the standard restaurant menu displayed outside we were looking forward to a good evening meal. But it was immediately obvious that we were being given a `special` economy menu for our tour group. The attitude of the restaurant staff was outrageous. They slapped the plates down in front of us – spilling soup in my wife`s lap on one evening – and snatched plates away without a word when we were finished. But we never finished a plate of food as the food was laughably bad. The dessert on the first evening was a soggy Rich Tea biscuit floating in a pool of cold custard. On the second evening the main meal was a piece of chicken with green beans. The vegetarian choice...? The same meal without the meat: a plate of lukewarm green beans. I complained. The waiter grunted, took it away, shoved it in the microwave and brought it back. So now I had a plate of hot green beans. It was inedible. As was the dessert: a blancmange-type lump with three squirts of cream out of an aerosol. We all left and ate at the local bar.

And don`t say, "Oh, just a whining veggie..." Everyone was upset by the take-it-or-leave-it attitude displayed at this establishment.

Breakfast was adequate with the usual choices -- and better for being able to help ourselves and not having to deal with the surly staff.

....

Cold and unwelcoming

Gl0bal_guru on 16/05/2017 18:10

We arrived without a reservation in the late afternoon. Obviously the staff knew we were in no position to look around for a place to stay. The two reception people we spoke with were cold, unfriendly, uninviting. I suppose it is possible that the large tour group that had just checked in flustered the staff, but that is no excuse. This place caters to large tour groups with bulk rates. Individuals clearly are not a priority. The physical facility is lovely, bright, new-ish, clean and well appointed. The rooms are very nice though poorly lit and the beds are extremely hard, thereby causing poor sleep. The worst part of our experience was the obvious lying - the staff said they did not know of any other hotels nearby and stated driving back to town was 15-20 minutes. Wrong; there was a lovely hotel on the next block and the drive to more hotels was 5 minutes. Upon inquiring about a place for dinner, the staff again feigned no knowledge of anywhere to eat except for the on premises restaurant and stated that the nearest restaurant was in the city, a 30 minute bus ride away. (why they mentioned a bus directly after charging us for the garage parking is baffling). There is an excellent restaurant one block from the hotel. I review that as well. Simply put, the staff here convince is that this is a do not visit location.

noisy at weekends

Pleasant hotel, but reception staff were not helpful .When asked for information about visiting the Alhambra, one staff member pulled a face and was very brusque in his reply. On Saturday night a disco was held with music which kept us awake until after 2.30 am. The snack bar was very nice with decent food and good service. Nothing much in the neighbourhood.
