I must confess - Madrigale at Marciaga (very near Lago di Garda) is my secret place for special visit. I never took my children there (sorry kids lol), I never took any business partner or any related.
I am always going there when I already have enough.
Then I call some girl which looks like she could became something more... And go time!
I am driving from Prague - its 6-7 hours long trip with a faster car through germany, austria and finaly - my Italy :)
I was there 4 times in last 5 years so I can say we usually arrive at night and we were always very warmly welcomed. The hotel runs a family so "big Dad" is awake and helps us with all necessary. We walk through a wonderfully scented garden around two enlightened pools and slowly, after a long journey, there is a sense of rest, romance and night promises... Here is advice - when ordering, you HAVE TO ORDER a room overlooking Garda lake. You cant see it at night, but when you wake up, go to the terrace... and see :)
The room is clean, very tasteful, breakfast - as it is with Italians - a great experience. I am usually jumping into one of the pools right after breakfast. You can smell oranges or lemons growing on trees from pool...
Anyway I never stay in hotel during day - we either go for a walk to a very near Garda, or sit in the car and drive for a trip to Verona (half an hour) or Venezia (hour or so) where we spend whole day walking, visiting coffees, restaurants...
I can not fail to mention the proximity of the amazing golf course Golf Cá degli Ulivi - in fact its 2 golf courses (old one and a new one). But unfortunately only one girl I brought in with me was a golfer :)
Anyway - as a starting point for perfect rest for 4-5 days in great Italy, I just have to really recommend this beautiful, quiet, clean and very very pleasant hotel

Stayed over Easter for a long weekend of golf. Amazing view of the lake and great golf accommodations. Will come back for sure. The near by golf course is really nice, but a tough walk, so try to reserve a cart early, they were all out.

Had a fantastic time celebrating my Dad's 70th at this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Great food, fantastic views, lovely swimming pool. Well worth it.
It is a more traditional hotel than some in it's decor but it's very charming.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay. Thank you.

The first thing you see when you check in is the panoramic view and the pool area. Both are incredible and well worth it. I would stay here again. It's a perfect romantic getaway. It's not ideal for a ladies weekend or family holiday. Consider that you need a car and you're not near the hustle and bustle. The rooms are clean and tidy with everything you need. It's probably a bit out of style now, but that's all. The staff are wonderful.

Wonderful hotel located in the mountains above Garda, with a panoramic view to the Garda lake in the rooms as well as from the restaurant and pool area. Having original Italian dishes served at the table during dinner was a wonderful experience.
