I have been staying in this hotel every other year since the last eight years Andy this was my fourth or fifth stay here. I see that the service quality is deteriorating over the last year. The wifi is very unreliable. The hot water in the rooms is also not guaranteed.
The responsiveness of the staff has come down.
The tea coffee maker is not a standard part of the offering..and the staff do not know the difference between a beach towel and bath towel.
Only the restaurant has maintained the quality of service over years.

We stayed two nights, don't expect any thrills but as a budget hotel we had no complaints. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food, both breakfast and dinner were good. The location is very central with a range of shops and stalls in all directions and the waterfront only being a 10 minute walk

Stayed for 2 days. Its a beautiful hotel having lovely food, location (everything you want in Mahabalipuram is just down the street. Staff is courteous and helpful (esp. Naina at front dest). You can surely give it a try for under budget services when in Mahabalipuram or nearby areas (Kalpakkam).

we stayed in hotel Mamalla heritage during our visit to Mahabalipuram. The advantage of staying in this hotel is that all places of tourist interest like beach, pandava chariots,etc are within 1 km radius.The service is good and food was tasty. The front office staff Venkateswarlu and Naina were very courteous and helpful.

Stayed in Standard room of the hotel - not a large room. Tea / Coffee maker is not provided but if asked for one would be provided - but only Tea Bags and Sugar sachet but no creamer or coffee sachet.If you ask for milk you have to pay for a full glass of milk each time. Normal furniture , there is sofa which can be used for additional bed. There have a sit out outside the room which is quite nice for enjoying a cup of tea while reading newspaper or book.
Buffet Breakfast is OK, choice is limited to south Indian delicacies .though egg is provided. Good point is the serving fresh fruit juice
Front office staff is helpful . There is a good vegetarian attached to the hotel serving both North and South India menu.
A non - vegetarian restaurant is in the same hotel complex.
Hotel has enough parking space , suits weekend visitors coming with family and friends.
They can change the bathroom mats daily as being on sea shore lot of sand come when entering room.
