Spent a week at Mar de Cortez. It has a great atmosphere and you won't get a better place for the cost. The pool/bar is a nice touch. The location is excellent and close to everything you'd need in Cabo. I'll definitely be booking there again.
Fabulous, again!

This beautifully manicured, quaint little hotel , is a refreshing place to stay! The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the pool and grounds are beautiful. Thank you for the new comfy loungers, too! The restaurant has amazing food ( we've stopped by for breakfasts when staying at other hotels!). But the staff tops it all off! I need to mention some special people (sorry in advance, if I forget anyone) Martha and Ana at reception are so friendly and accommodating. My husband had business to do while in Mexico and I phoned Ana in advance and she had researched places for him. Much appreciated! Also, thanks to Daniel, our bell man, and Alex who always tries to have conversation with us.The other Ana keeps the grounds impeccable, with a smile every day and a hug for us. The great team of Reggie, Janet,Carlos, Jorge, Giovanni, Gerardo kept the restaurant running smoothly, with it's awesome breakfasts and happy hours! Thanks to Lucia for keeping our room lovely every day. And a final thanks to Nat, who has always made our reservation with every detail in place when we arrive.
We always stay at an lovely AI for 1 week , but I would recommend this hotel for a welcome change! We're already booked for January and looking forward to seeing everyone again!
Cheers, Pat and Shannon!

I have been staying here for 25 years. They have added TV's , It is not a beach hotel, I love it because you will never need a cab. I go with a group of ladies, we can walk home from Cabo Wabo. We go the same time every year, so we have become a family. The only thing I was disappointed with is the new Front Desk Manager Eduardo, not as friendly as the old timers.
First timer, great spot

This was our first time staying at Mar De Cortez(MDC). We, being a couple in our late 50’s, truly enjoyed the MDC! The bed was comfortable, the refrigerator icy cold, the A/C also icy cold if you wanted it really cold. The A/C had a remote to control the temp and it worked great. We were in room 115 right outside the pool. We loved our location.
The bar area was nice and inviting. Happy hour with 2 for one drinks from 1-2 and 5-6.
The American breakfast was plenty of food for a big American. 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, potatoes and refried beans and toast for 50 pesos. 50 pesos is less that 3 dollars if you get pesos at the atm just up the street at 19:1.
The crowd was a mix of tourists from mid 30’s to 70’s.
We met a nice couple that were staying there for a month that filled us in on all the great spots that were literally right outside our front door. Taco Guss about 2 blocks away. Guacamaya’s about a block. Hooliganz across the street. A tortillaria sp? past taco Guss and to the right.
We usually stayed at the Bahia for our non timeshare nights in town but it has been getting more and more expensive over the years. MDC is our new go to spot to fill in around our timeshares. At 70 bucks a night, it’s worth spending a week here. Or in the case of Colin, a month. Hi Colin. 😄😄
Great Boutique Hotel

Love this hotel! It has a traditional Mexico style and it's clean, colorful and feels like a secret hideaway in the center of town. Only two blocks from the harbor, easy walk without the constant hum of activity around the docks. It's right off the street but feels safe and it is quiet inside the courtyard. The pool is next to the restaurant/bar, so comfortable to have a relaxing bit to eat or drink while lounging during siesta. I plan on going back next year. And all the staff are great, helpful and easy going.
