This is a decent place to stay if you are on your business trip. A typical business hotel situated on Pune Bengaluru highway. Rooms were okay. They need to spend money on pillows so that visitors can get a sound sleep. Food was good. Overall an above average hotel to stay.

Our families went with a high hopes of getting quality maharashtrian food. However, to our utter disappointment the waiter kept discouraging us to go for maharashtrian food for some or the other reason and kept pushing for other options. The service was also pathetic and one should not get deceived by its grand outer look !

The most important aspect of customer centric functions is hospitality. If hospitality is good, some issues could be ignored. But Maratha Palace scores very low on that point.
We had made booking through online portal and were supposed to stay for a night. We came before the check-in time of 12PM as we had to travel in a over night bus. In such cases, hotels provide a room if it is available. Else, we have to wait till 12PM. In this case, rooms were available but they refused to give. At the same time, we also saw them giving rooms for people who came with local travel agent.
Ou plan included complimentary breakfast but we were leaving at 6AM on the next day. So, we asked whether we could swap it for the current day. They rudely refused. Never had such an experience.
Finally, we utilized common restrooms and called our taxi to go on site seeing. And checked-in late in the night.
The rooms were decent and we had no issues with that. If only matched with the customer friendly people/management, the rating would have gone much higher.

During my transit visit on way to Pune i had landed in this hotel after getting a tip for non vegetarian genuine & authentic food .
We took Maratha Special mutton which was awesome . Although we were a bit early for lunch we were attended to quickly

We stayed there for one night and we were fed up.
First we were shown a room, in which the linens were used ones and we asked the roomboy to change it. He took some pillow covers and inserted the pillow, without removing the old cover. Then i have to insist to do it properly. I had to push him for changing the bedsheets, the quilt cover, etc individually. The worse part was he dragged down the quilt and walked over that with his shoe on. Again i had to interfere.
After all those excercises, the AC was not working. Then we were shifted to another room. I personally picked the pillows, bedsheet and quilt to change in the new room.
After 1 hour the AC in the new room also started to pour water on the floor. We were tired of that guys and didnt inform or complaint. Just slept for one night and escaped.
The food was pretty good, though there was no choices.
