Superb authentic Sicilian country retreat!

We have spent one week at Masseria degli Ulivi at the end of May.
What a lovely place! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with the true character of the Sicilian rural setting. The overall atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, with lots of very well looked after outside garden. The swimming pool is large and quite, perfect for an half day relax time or to be enjoyed on the checking out day as we did ( the flight was late in the afternoon).
The restaurant is cosy and the food excellent. The location is close (a car is definitely needed) to many beautiful beaches and locations ( Noto, Scicli, Siracusa, Marzamemi...)
All the staff was caring and approachable, yet respectful of privacy.
In particular many thanks to Luciano and Michele.
We would definitely return if decided to visit Sicily again.
Great location

Very nice hotel in great quiet location. Rooms were furnished simple but tasteful and were clean. Excellent restaurant. Pool was big. Breakfast was a little boring as always same choice was offered throughout our stay.
What a wonderful and relaxing place!

We have just spent a week there. We had a wonderful and relaxing time.
The rooms are big, lots of storage space and even a little fridge. Each room has an outdoor seating area. The pool is amazing, quite big too. The grounds are very well kept. We loved the table tennis area.
We ate 4 nights at the Masseria on an half board basis. Breakfast was excellent – no hot food but lots of freshly baked pastries, delicious cakes, hard boiled eggs, ham/cheese, etc. Decent choice of food on the ½ board menu, except maybe when it comes to the desserts and the food was good. Good value too. Staff was very accommodating for our son who only wanted a plate of Pomodoro pasta.
The Masseria is up the hill approx. 9 Km from Noto. There is nothing else to do once you are there – no villages, no neighbours, etc. It’s very quiet. You will need a car.
We used Google map to find it – it was very easy.
Noto is a lovely small town. Lots of really nice place to eat, buy ice-cream, souvenirs, people watching etc.
Thanks to all the staff member, I wish they’d speak good enough English to appreciate all the positive comments. They deserve them.
Would we go back? Probably not has we have seen everything that there was to see in the area. We even drove to Mount Etna & Taormina. But I highly recommend the Masseria. And if someone knows of a similar place in Sardinia, pls let us know.
Lovely quiet break

The Masseria is beautiful and well maintained, peaceful and relaxing and
Very clean
Olive trees provide lovely shade, the grounds are lovely
Pool isn't heated so can be cold
The food is very good, local products and very well Cooked
The staff are all really helpful even when busy.
The bar area wasn't manned when we went so it was difficult to get served
Added to this the tea and coffee machine wasn't working so hard to get hot drinks
Most of the staff did go out of their way and went to the restaurant to get the drinks. There was one man who didn't though.
Perfetto!

This is a beautifully designed resort set amidst olive trees a few kilometres from Noto in the peace and quiet of the Sicilian countryside. It's preferable to have a car in order to get there and to have GPS coordinates.. The grounds are immaculately tidy with a clean and inviting swimming pool, tennis court and spa. The rooms are simply and tastefully decorated and very comfortable, built to a high standard of craftsmanship and quality. Towels were white and fluffy. Three of us occupied two storey accommodation for up to four people. We dined in the restaurant the three nights we were there. The food was delicious, the staff a little rushed at times which is testimony to the fact that people like to eat there. Breakfast was served on the sunny terrace and offered a good variety...eggs, cheese, cold meats, juice, tea and coffee, yoghurt, fruit salad, cereals, bread and a mouth watering selection from the bakery. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. We have travelled extensively and would highly recommend this as a place to stay...it ranks as one of our favourites.
