LA PAZ VISIT

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Mediterrane. Great location. The rooms are called after the Greek Islands, and the building is styled like Santorini. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the room very clean. We had a room on the ground floor. The rooms upstairs would have been good; however access is via spiral staircases, so if you have luggage, stay downstairs. The view from the rooftop was fantastic.
A Gem in La Paz, Mexico

The experience we had began as a 5/5 and ended the same way. We arrived in LA PAZ during carnival and wanted to stay where the least amount of referring "noise" from the event would be. When we arrived at Hotel Mediterrane in the early afternoon, Joel, the Front Desk day manager was kind enough to show up a couple of options for rooms and was honest about the possibility of some referral "noise" from the street at night. After leaving and walking the boardwalk to think about it we came back and greeted by Nobert. He was so friendly and suggested another option, an upstairs room with a view. We took it and had the absolute pleasure of spending two days in "Greece". The hotel is full of character and holds a quaint/private feel. It is very safe, as the hotel has a high iron gate for guests to come and go by key. The room is simple, clean and well decorated. A king size firm bed with comfortable bedding sits under a dome shaped raised ceiling; making the room feel larger. With the room is Air Conditioning, Bottled Water, Extra Blankets. The bathroom is small with a shower that is perfectly hot (if you want) and there is soap and shampoo for you if need be.
Service was impeccable. Our stay included a home made breakfast each morning. Nobert is so accommodating to the needs of his guests. The hotel feels more like a Villa with many rooms.
The hotel has a restaurant attached called ZOE. A 5 star experience from the service to the deliciousness of fresh, homemade items to choose from. Each dish is so flavorful and ingredients so fresh. The pasta is homemade and tastes as though you were in Italy.
As it happens the Chef of the restaurant is also Nobert.
There is a rooftop terrace perfect for watching the sunset over the marina, flowing yoga, meditation, or simply a glass of wine and relaxation or reading a book.
Although short lived in time of stay, it was a memorable experience and we will definitely be back.
Lovely staff !

This is a great hotel in La Paz.
My room Syros had a balcoNy with a sea view and there is also a roof terrace overlooking the sea and malecon.
The breakfasts are delicious and you can sit on a patio at the front of the hotel and watch the pelicans diving for fish while you are eating.
However the best thing about the hotel by far are the wonderful staff particularly Joel and Heber on reception. They are so friendly and helpful and both took a lot of time to help me find affordable transport to my next destination La Ventana. They even used their own phones to make calls. Thanks so much guys you made my holiday!
I would also recommend booking the whale shark trips through them. The company they have links with are great and especially good with nervous swimmers.
All in all a great experience.
The very best of LaPaz

Our stay here was the most enjoyable experience! We stayed for 11 nights in a garden room in the far corner. It was quiet and secluded. The whole staff was super friendy! and especially Joel! He was helpful, friendly and sincere! Breakfast each day was absolutely delicious!
Just steps to the Malecon and everything else in centro but far enough, you didn't get noises of the nightclubs!
The street parking was safe and secure.
We will definitely be back!
It tops with location, good rooms and vibes plus delicious home-made breakfast and restaurant!

Finally a place where I can have a delicious home-made breakfast until 2:30 in the afternoon! Unbelievable! Plus you have about 20 different choices on the Morning Menu! And the Caracol bread and heart cookies are home-made, too.
Staying here from Christmas until New Year's was a total treat. There is a good vibe at this place and that counts a lot. Joel, gave us a bunch of excellent tips of places to go. He loves and knows his city very well. His smile and great energy is a total plus at breakfast time. It is located only a block away from the seaside. You can catch a boat to bathe with the shark whales or visit Espírito Santo island only 3 blocks away. Great location!
Their restaurant, Zoe is a total must. One of the best in town. Norbert, the Swiss Chef, and Saúl have created a place where dining is a pleasure. They personally go to the local organic market. I ate at least 7 times at their restaurant and I can say without any doubt that I loved my meal every evening! Plus I discovered that there are very good Mexican wines. Since locals often come here the prices are reasonable.
There are about 10 rooms. There is a lovely garden in the middle. Some rooms have balconies, others terraces. And there is a sun terrace overlooking the sea where I did some yoga...yes, they also have yoga mats! The place has a Greek island architecture. It is the spot to relax and chill out in Baja California Sur.
I love moving around visiting new places but this is one I would like to visit again.
