Continuation of Great Rajasthan Road Trip - December 2016 - So it was the second day of our trip and we were on our way to Ajmer and Pushkar and then a Night halt at Ajmer or somewhere on the way to Udaipur, but ended up in Hotel Mewar Inn around 3:30 am (it a long story for another time :D ).
We reached Udaipur on the early hours of 28th December (without prior booking) and started looking out for Hotels on the Gangaur Ghat (on Jagdish Temple marg) as we wanted an accommodation in the center of the City (it was like wishing for a Unicorn). While on our way from Ajmer, around 11:30 I searched Mewar Inn on Trip Advisory and called them, they were quite courteous to answer and assured me that they have rooms. When we were searching for Hotels in Udaipur we crossed Mewar Inn 3-4 times but the ladies were skeptical about it by its outer looks, then after 3 hours of agony I assured them that lets spend the night here and then in morning we will shift to another place, and for our surprise it was a decent hotel with nice and cosy rooms with all the required facilities.
My experience - Nice and clean rooms with cleaner toilets. Staff is friendly and always eager to help. Food is above fantastic, had our breakfast on 29th December and the cook a guy from Gharwal made such tasty breakfast that I still remember the taste.
This place is away from the city center but has got good connectivity via auto-rickshaws.
Wonderful Place

Definitely one of the best hotels I've stayed in in India. Location is perfect, 10 minutes away from the crowded city, so you can relax. The manager picked me up at the bus station after a long bus trip from Bombay. My room was on the last floor, bathroom inside, clean, big bed, hot water. Kenny who works at the hotel made me feel like home. Such a lovely person. He cooks nice food and even taught me how to make chapati..Everything perfect. I stayed there for a whole week and met some wonderful people.
So once you go there say hi from Toni.
A fantastic hotel for travellers and tourists alike!

My wife and I picked up a recommendation for the Hotel Mewar Inn when staying in Mumbai and had planned to stay for a couple of days whilst visiting Udaipur as part of our Indian travels. In truth, we decided shortly after checking in to stay for 4 nights/5 days for a number of reasons.
The staff were welcoming and friendly, and even collected us from the bus from Mumbai to bring us to the hotel. The room we were staying in was spacious and clean, and was undoubtedly the best we'd experienced during our time in India to date, all for a fraction of the prices we were used to paying. Food was great, particularly the breakfasts! Lake Picchola and the main attractions of Udaipur are within walking distance, around 20 minutes from the hotel on foot, or a short 40 rupees rickshaw ride away.
I'd absolutely recommend the Hotel Mewar Inn for anyone visiting Udaipur, thanks for a great stay!
Great budget place to stay

I had a great time staying at this charming hotel in Udaipur. The room was clean and had a great view, and my family enjoyed the food here as well. The staff were super helpful, and they made sure we were comfortable. In all, this place was value for money, and I recommend Mewar Inn if you're looking to spend a few peaceful days in the city of lakes!
