This hotel is a model of what other hotels ought to be. The rooms and the staff are superior in every way. Mrs. Bacigalupo and her staff goes out of their way to please all. Leonardo does everything from parking the car to correcting the problem we had with the TV. Massimo printed detailed train schedules for us and Olga gave us lots of suggestions on the area. I could not get over the roof top pool area and its large spa. The hotel also runs a free shuttle to and from the mile long Strand or beach area with many restaurants. The hotel is located right in the historic district with pedestrian walkways to many restaurants, squares and the rail station.
The rooms are well kept and modern. Breakfast was excellent with several hot items.
This hotel and town is an excellent spot to visit the towns of the Italian Riviera i.e. Portofino, Rapallo and also the Cinque Terre about 50 minutes south.
This is definitely the best town to stay in and I don't know why you would spend it in any other hotel in the area! Will certainly recommend the Hotel Monterosa and Mrs
Bacigalupo's fine and most attentive staff. Only wish all hotels were like this one. Hopefully we will be back!

We were recommended this Hotel by friends, it didn't disappoint us.
It was right in the heart of the old city, amongst the restaurants and designer stores.
Accommodation was good, the breakfasts were excellent and the staff very helpful.
If you have a car, book for a carpark (costs about 10euro a night ).
If you don't book, there is a public carpark around the corner and up the hill, about 500 metres from the hotel. its free if you park up in the back rows.

Our family of four stayed here for 5 nights. Hotel pool area is great and front desk super friendly and very helpful! Room was a bit dated but kept clean. Great part of town for amazing and authentic restaurants, we had a great stay

I Booked the hotel for 5 days, the first night the room was not asI would expected for the price we pay.... the next day morning I found out lot of the other rooms had balcony, may be for booking with Booking.com they give us like one of the smallest and ugliest so I went to reception and they don't really help as much only that if I wanted one with balcony, they would have to speak with the owner and ask how much more, later they Callie to the room and told me 35 more per night, I consider this an abuse, they knew I wanted to take no matter what one with balcony....... we only took this hotel while in Chiavari we didn't find so many with pool, also he WIFI in the old room was horrible then in the new one was ok. Also we where charged for everyday of Parking CUSTOMER SERVICE FORGET IT !!!!!
Positive: the breakfast was really good and also the pool are was beautiful very Italian style.

We spent 4 nights in this hotel, situated in the old part of town. Our room was newly renovated, cleen and nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The terrace bar is very nice. Small but clean pool. We went to Cinque Terre and Portofino by boat from the tourist harbour just below the train station. The town is genuin and calm. Nice antique market saturday & sunday. Not many tourists. The beaches we're not anything special. Not a place to go if you want to spent the data at the beach. We spent one day at the privat beach Lido. Paied €42 for entrance, 3 sunbeds & 2 paradols. Eat with the locals at Osteria da Vittori!
