What People are saying

Nice place to stay!

fazboy on 23/07/2017 15:01

We visited lake Garda for the first time and needed to have a base to stay while visiting various towns. The hotel is basic but very well maintained with friendly and helpful staff. It is definitely value for money, but not if you wish to spend most of your time in the hotel. There is a beach across the road and a short pier with limited number of sun loungers but very orderly clean and well maintained. I highly recommend it.

Great location, friendly staff

Yes this small establishment is very 3 star . . but it is comfortable, clean and in a great location. You will need a hire car or its a taxi ride to anywhere as it is on a very quiet stretch of coast line on the east shore of Lake Garda. The restaurant has a tasty but limited choice of food and drinks on the menu but you can sit outside and eat and watch the sun set over the mountains. The manager Sieglinde and her assistant Yrme were so friendly and hard working, nothing was too much trouble. Probably it is due a refurbishment in the bedrooms and restaurant area but still acceptable when the whole experience is taken into account. 3.5 stars is a fair appraisal and we would definitely return.

Very average, I can see why it's only 3*

Overall it was a pleasant stay. But this was mainly down to the beautiful location! The hotel was very average and is ok if you're just looking for somewhere to sleep but there were a few things that I wasn't completely satisfied with.

Unfortunately I booked a room with a lake view but instead got a very basic room, nothing like pictures, no balcony and instead view of a hedge!! I asked the staff (only one of which could understand English) if I could be moved but they said they had no other rooms available. Also had no towels in my room on first night. Had long flight and was desperate for a shower and was getting late! Had to ask twice for them and after about 30mins they were brought up.

Bathroom facilities were very basic, no bath and the shower seemed to be at very weird angle and you could not adjust shower head easily. If you did cleaner would just put it back where it was following day.

Sink was also strange as there was a shelf only a few inches above taps so you couldn't wash your face or brush your teeth without bashing your head!

No sheet on bed only thick duvet and was so hot!! so had to take duvet cover off and use that as sheet. Air con worked but made loud buzzing noise so had to turn it off when going to sleep.

Staff weren't the most helpful. It felt like if you asked them anything you were a bit of an inconvenience and they had better things to do. Most of the time no one was on reception and if you were to go out you were expected to leave keys next to reception within arms reach of anyone passing by which I was slightly uncomfortable with.

Food was ok, better than I expected it to be, but I ate mainly at "ristorante da umberto" which was about a 15min walk from hotel and served some amazing fresh local fish from the lake and staff there were so friendly!! Hotel bolognaise (5 min walk) was also nice and had lovely staff.

Not much to do in brenzone, but there are boats that come daily that can take you to different parts of the lake such as limone, sirmione, riva del Garda which are all beautiful places to visit. If you want to visit Verona city I would recommend doing it on day you arrive or last day if you can as airport is close to it. You cant leave luggage at airport but you can at train station as they have a "luggage hold" department near entrance. Train st is about a 20min walk from Verona city centre. Taxi transfer takes about 1hr and costs around €90 one way. It's worth asking hotel if they can sort a taxi out cheaper for you.

To catch a bus from Verona airport to brenzone is fine but might be awkward with luggage as you have to catch two different buses and takes about 2.5 hours one way.

Although hotel was quite disappointing I did have a really enjoyable holiday but probably would stay somewhere else next time!!

Relaxing stay

I have spent with my daughter few days in Hotel Orione, and we had a wonderful time. The rooms are nice and clean, breakfast in a nice restaurant with a view to the lake, which is just makes your day already in the morning. There is a little a jacuzzi in the garden, which u can enjoy throughout the day. The food was delicious, staff is helpful and friendly, have to mention the manager Iris, who helped us out with all our requests during our stay. She was very professional, knows a lot about the area and of course about hospitality.
From the hotel you can walk along the road or the lake, which is relaxing, or not far from playground if you travel with family. I think it is a good price-value. I would definitely go back and stay again.

Disastrous

eurolondoner on 30/11/2015 20:01

We booked two rooms in this hotel in January, directly calling the number on the hotel website and confirming a reservation providing all details including credit card. We received an email detailing the rooms and wrote back to say that as discussed over the phone we would like the booking to be for half board.

When we arrived on the day we had booked for, there was no one at reception. Then a young man arrived but could not find our reservation. He did not really know what to do and went to fetch a lady who was presumably either the owner or the manager. She told us right away that we do not have a booking. We explained all the steps we had gone through, but her answers were increasingly odd and contradictory: "we do not have a phone number for reservation", "we do not take credit card numbers for reservations", "we cannot take reservations when we do not have credit card numbers", "I always take all reservations myself", "I never make mistakes", etc.

She then proceeded to call the number that supposedly did not exist and told them in Italian, that she was fed up with them as this "happens all the time". She added some xenophobic remarks, ridiculing our nationality and comparing us to excrements, still presumably thinking that we did not understand Italian (all three of us did). She was extremely aggressive with them as with us, and extremely rude. I stay - quite literally - in dozens of hotels every year and that is undoubtedly the rudest behaviour I have ever experienced in any of them.

The location of the hotel is pleasant near the lake (but with a large road between hotel and lake and the hotel parking directly in front of the rooms) but if anyone is really keen to stay there, I would very strongly recommend that they book through a third party and not direct as those third parties are at least more competent in managing reservations and will own up to their mistakes if they overbook the hotel as the owner had clearly done on that day.

Being left stranded by the hotel's incompetence, we were lucky to find a far more supportive team (and far prettier place with lovely restaurant terraces directly on the lake) at the Hotel Pai, just a few minutes south in Torri del Benaco.
