What People are saying

Good quality hotel right on the main street

cataloger_of_shipson 29/05/2017 15:46

The hotel I've stayed at on previous visits to Jaca had closed down, so I decided to give the Oroel a go. Reception staff were very polite and helpful in sorting me out with a room in just a few minutes. Room was very spacious with good furnishings (including sofa, table and writing desk). A fridge is always a nice option in a hot country like Spain, so it was pleasing to see one here. Bathroom decor was a little bit dated, and the shower was slightly erratic, but not so as to mar the overall experience.

Although the hotel fronts onto the main street, parking is fairly easy to find - assuming you are travelling by car. By chance I was able to park a few metres from the hotel lobby!

In view of its size and location, I was expecting to pay more than usual for the room. At a little over 50 euros, however, I was very pleasantly surprised. I shall certainly stay here again next time I'm visiting Jaca.

Good hotel for an overnight stop

The hotel is located a bit outside of the old town city center. The garage is directly beside the hotel and the hotel has rented places at the floor -4. The garage is a bit narrow to drive with a bigger car. Room 510 is OK. Little balcony with nice sun, room big and nice furnished. The restaurant opens at 20:30 and this was for us to late, so we made a "Zimmerdinner" (I have bought some snacks in the city and we have enjoyed them on our balcony). Breakfast we have not tried. Room was clean, but the whole atmosphere not very cosy and the way to the garage not clean. Pool was still in winter sleep and the surrounding not very nice to see. So for us it was good for this night on our way through the Pyrenäen. If you do not expect to much, you will get a big, clean room for not to much money.

Better than we thought it would be

We'd booked our trip across the Pyrenees (Girona, Andorra, Jaka, Pamplona, San Sebastian) months before and so had even forgotten that the Oroel had a pool.

But we all took a welcome dip (and spent a while in the Jacuzzi) after our long drive from Andorra and the fantastic drive down into town from the mountains - staggering views!

The Oroel is located just a few hundred yards/metres from the Citadel (which we explored the next day - well worth it) and only 10 mins from the centre of what turned out to be a lovely old town centre, full of bars and restaurants.

The hotel is open, clean and recently modernised. The one aspect that you may want to consider if driving, is to get a small car as the car park, like many town centre hotels, is underground and quite tight to get about, but well served with lifts.

Our room had a great view of the pool / gardens and the Citadel from our balcony. It was an open plan room with a double with two singles and had a small 'office' space, TV and fridge.

Overall a great place to stop-off if crossing the Pyrenees. We just wish we'd been staying longer - next time!

The sweetspot where price meets quality

A 3 star hotel which is absolutely a treat. Outstanding staff. A great welcome. Our 3 person room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The rooms are exactly as depicted in their promotional photos. we stayed one night and came back the next because it was so pleasant. Excellent value for money

Location and pricing just right

Driving from France we were pleasantly surprised to find a hotel at this price. The location just a frew minutes form the cathedral and historic downtown is another plus. On the other hand ,the bathroom is a big negative when the room was very large and space does not seem to be limiting. We also had a top floor room, and in a moderate summer day the air conditioning could not keep up. Hotel management dry style and lack of good information was also negative. We got a "Xerox" copy of a city map when in France in every hotel we would get a real color copy of the town and location of main attractions. To get this Jaca has the tourist office which is very crowded in August and the maps are not handed out easily. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, instead there are several coffee shops across the street serving continental breakfast for 4 euros with excellent croissants.
The hotel beds were good and the room clean.
Parking is available at the hotel for a fee although free street parking was not difficult to get this time of the year,
