Cordoba was just a one night stopover for me en route to Veracruz. I was glad of that, both because there's not much there (other than a pleasant zocalo with a couple of nice cafes) and I would not have wanted to spend more than one night at this hotel. Based on the pictures on their website I expected a decent if characterless modern business hotel. But it is something less than that. It has kind of a creepy, institutional feel. Similar in my experience to hotels I stayed at in Eastern Europe during the Soviet era.
The air conditioner in my room functioned well, which was huge, given the oppressive summer heat. But everything else in the room was third rate, and the hot water was inconsistent. The room smelled a bit dank. There was a hot breakfast included in the room rate, but even with that the hotel seemed overpriced for what it was.
I think that the Palacio (not a "palace" in any language) gets away with charging what it does because the hotel options in Cordoba are extremely limited. It's a place to sleep, adequate for one night, but other than the a/c and central location it has nothing to recommend it. (There was what looked like a nice hotel in a historic building on the zocalo, but I had not found that in any online listings).

The room seems nice with good beds, nice bedspreads, decent sheets, an air conditioner, and lots of TV channel choices. However, 1) The windows do not close completely and lots of noise enters the room, 2) the toilet leaks leaving a stream of water across the floor, 3) the lighting is very dim, 4) the only electrical plug is broken so that a plug falls out of it, and 5) the a/c unit only cools (whereas similar units in other places I've stayed also heat when the weather is cool as it is during my visit). Wi-fi is good, but it wasn't working for several hours due to needing a reboot.
